The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale

From start to finish, my experience at The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale was nothing short of outstanding. The staff truly exemplifies world-class hospitality. They accommodated my request to move from a pool-level room to a higher floor seamlessly, making my stay even more enjoyable. The highlight of my visit was the Club Lounge—it is, without question, the best I’ve ever experienced. The team there is phenomenal: attentive, warm, and genuinely committed to creating a memorable experience. The food offerings are exceptional, with a variety and quality that feel more like fine dining than a typical lounge. If you’re looking for luxury, personalized service, and an unforgettable stay, this property is a must. I can’t recommend it highly enough!

At the end of the day, hotel rooms can blend together. It’s a Ritz so you expect it to be nice and this one is average at best. If you gave choice between here and Four Seasons definitely pick Fiyr Seasons. We only stayed one night but everything was underwhelming. I upgraded to the Club Lounge and an absolute waste of $300. The breakfast was on par with the free breakfast at a Fairfield Inn. The same goes for every aspect of the lounge experience. So sad as this was my absolute favorite place to go and now it is not even on par with most average hotels.

I liked the atmosphere here. I felt relaxed and welcomed from the moment I arrived. Had a hiccup on check in but the front desk supervisor, Alton came to my rescue and handled the situation. He was heaven sent. Let’s not forget Monty, the bellman who welcomed me and got me into my beautiful room. Poolside I must give Ruben and Veronica a high five for their hospitality and impeccable service. I observed them with other hotel guest and seemingly they were both on point. The biggest five star goes to a position at the hotel generally that you wouldn’t think that be hands on with a guest visit. Well, it’s a different situation with the general manager, Jose Torres. He responded to a random email that I sent him that confirmed this was the location that I wanted to spend three nights. The staff took really good care of everything. It was refreshing. Staying here was like a dream thanks to the concierge staff. The quiet and peaceful feel gave me the best sleep in months. A beautiful place to relax and have lots of fun.

I booked a night here for my husband’s birthday. Besides being underwhelmed by the room we still were hopeful for a nice stay. We woke in the middle of the night sweating because the air conditioning in our room stopped working. So after being up all night and exhausted we went to the hot tub. It was Luke warm at best. We told staff and waited a hour and nothing. It stayed Luke warm. The staff seemed to be aware that it was broken up already. We went to get in the elevator on the 14th floor to leave and had quite the scare. The doors closed the elevator started to descend then a loud bang and it slammed to a stop. A moment later it drops abruptly and then slams to a stop again! We were hanging on the railings trying to press buttons and call for help. The elevator help phone had no answer. With the help of other guests waiting for elevator on the outside the doors were pried open and we climbed out in between floors. Turns out it had been broken and the elevator company put it back in service while they were working on it putting us in harms way. We talked to the manager told her our entire experience. She apologized and said she would refund our stay. Well she didn’t. Instead on our drive home she charged our credit card. Now to add to the terrible experience I woke this morning two weeks later to SIX unauthorized charges on my credit card from Marriott for $75 each. What a horrible experience this has all been!

The pool area is stunning, with luxurious amenities and beautiful surroundings that overlooks the ocean. It has a dining restaurant and a bar, hot tubs and there is also beach access however during our visit it wasn't working. The service is great, and we were offered pool amenities multiple times, including frozen grapes and smoothies, as well as gelato ice cream, which added a luxury vibe to the experience. I would like to mention the excellent service provided by the pool staff, including Keddar our server, Scott and Richard at the bar and Ruben, the pool attendant.

My sister and I just got back from a quick trip to the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale and we had a great stay. The hotel is beautiful, the location is convenient, and the service really stood out. Every employee we met was wonderful, but these two deserve a special mention. Our first interaction was with Maurell at the front desk, and she set the tone right away. She was very friendly and welcoming . We arrived early and tried to check in a few times but the room wasn't ready until the original check-in time of 4 PM. so it made for a long wait. When we went back up to the desk and were told the room was finally ready, she came out of the office to personally take care of us. She knew we had been waiting a long time and surprised us with an upgrade to a beautiful room with an amazing view of the pool and the ocean. Rodney by the pool also deserves a shout-out. He checked on us every day always with a smile, and made sure we were taken care of. He really did make us feel like VIPs. We really enjoyed our time at this beautiful hotel and we will definitely be back.

The standout experience of our stay was undoubtedly the exotic animal show at the pool. It was both entertaining and fascinating to observe the animals up close and gain insights into their behaviors. Our pool server, JC, took exceptional care of us for two consecutive days, going above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed. Thank you also to Ruben for consistently providing us with his warm and welcoming service, always ensuring we were seated in a pleasant spot. We are already looking forward to our next visit and plan to extend our stay a little longer next time.

This has been (was) my go to hotel in Fort Lauderdale for many years. Unfortunately, that is now over. However, I will only write about the Club Lounge, which has entirely lost it's way for several years. I have written to the management over and over about the inadequecy and lackings of this Club Lounge, in relation to some of the other stellar properties around the Country (World, actually). There are many Club Lounges that strive for excellence; this is far from one of them. My Gold Standard has always been Dallas, where they go out of their way for some amazing presentations. However, Chicago is awesome, NoMad is (pricey to the extreme) awesome, Naples is awesome, Key Biscayne is awesome, Atlanta is awesome, etc .... but what the hell happened to Fort Lauderdale ?? It was TOTALLY awesome 10 years ago. Where did they go WRONG ?? What they put out is low level garbage. Everything looks like it came out of a box and got re-heated in an oven. Nothing looks like it was cooked on property. It wouldn't surprise me if they tried to pass off pigs in blankets, for dinner. The scrambled eggs are so soupy, due to the condensation, that they are inedible, unless you have absolutely no quality standards when it comes to the things you eat. The bacon was hard as a rock; and not flavorful. You don't stay at a Ritz Carlton for lack of quality. The name Ritz Carlton should be synonomous with Quality. They wrote the book, on quality. This property has a long way to go, to get their reputation back. Get rid of the poor excuse for a Chef, and tell the F & B manager that his last day is yesterday, and let's start moving in the right direction with this place. Don't waste your money here on this Lounge, and safe and happy travels !!

We got a day pass for the pool area to wait for our late flight. The pool area and the staff were all very attentive and the pool deck and views are incredible. They passed out some frozen grapes, and later berries. The drinks and the food out by the pool were pretty high so we only ordered 1 drink each. Very nice area though!
