Hyatt Regency Hakone Resort and Spa

Good location for Hakone Ropeway (walking distance) and Open Air Museum (motorised transport required) The hotel is situated in a quiet and forested location - very nicely prepared and managed hotel. Our room was really large - panoramic views over the countryside - with a large terrace. Breakfast (included) was fine - cooked to order. The hotel has 2 towers - one tower housing single rooms only; the other tower housing doubles/suites. A little confusing finding your way from reception but fine once understood.

Beautiful property and great service

This is a very lovely property in the hills of Japan. You enter to the wonderful smell of a "campfire." The rooms are large and well-appointed, and we had a darling coffee/writing alcove off the main room and a gorgeous view of the hills. The spa and onsen were very luxurious. I should have done a bit more research on how to use the onsen, as I had a bit of trouble understanding with the language barrier (word to the wise: the robe, slippers, undies are for AFTER you finish at the onsen, not for the short trip to it. The showers for BEFORE - and after if you like - are right next to the onsen, outside of the locker room.). We didn't eat any meals at the hotel, so I can't report on those.

Great hotel and Onsei, very nice and helpful staff. Shuttle services help a lot and it's complimentary! Sushi dinner is also very delicious.

The stay was great. Breakfast had a good spread. The staff on duty at any time of the day or night were extremely helpful and friendly. I'm a vegetarian and they had a separate veg menu I could choose plenty of dishes from. Rooms are lovely and spacious. We had a hill view room. There were 4 of us and even though it wasn't included in our package, once requested they gave us a pullout bed for my 12 year old at no extra charge. Very gracious :) The hotel is situated in Gora area. Please keep in mind that everything around Gora area shuts by 5 or 6pm sharp. There are a few (maybe 2-3) restaurants the hotel shuttle can drop you to but you will have to take a taxi back. Taxis are hard to get/find. We had a Hakone free pass which helped tremendously getting around to different areas of Hakone. A must! The hotel has a public onsen which was extremely well maintened with all the necessary facilities. The hotel shuttle picks and drops guests from either Odawara station or the Gora station. They do this 3 times a day. Please check the hotel website for more time details. Overall a lovely comfortable stay. Thank you ❤️

Beautiful property in a picturesque area, near Hakone Ropeway, Lake Ashi, and the Open Air and art museums. The spa has its own onsen, available to guests throughout the day and services like massage and facials are top notch. We had the most relaxing and family-oriented time possible and would love to come back again. Additionally, the hotel offers shuttle service to nearby train stations and ropeway stops, making it easy for guests to access points of interest in the area. Great hotel!

The location is good, close to the funicular station. Staff is very polite and helpful. The room was clean and with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Sleeping on futons on tatami floor was fun and no problem. And wearing Yukata feels special and Japanese.

The hotel is beautiful but all the inconveniences and failure for staff to help make it not recommendable or worth it. First of all, they advertise that they can pick you up from Odawara station but what they fail to tell you is that is only during 9:45 to 2. If you are outside that time frame then you are forced to take a taxi to the hotel which is about $75 each way. They tell you they have a shuttle to drop and pick you up but not if you have AT&T. So if you have AT&T, you can’t use the shuttle. We had to pay for so many taxis to do anything. Then, somehow our reservation showed double. We are a family of 4 and somehow the reservation was for 2 rooms for 8 people, basically a double reservation. They could tell it was a mistake. The staff and manager were not helpful and told us that we could not cancel the second room and would have to pay 100,000 yen if we used the room or not. It was very remote and I would not recommend. Not worth the hassle.
