Hyatt Regency Hakone Resort and Spa

The service was impeccable. Welcome drink is a nice touch. Room was huge and well appointed. Loved it.

An amazingly hidden gem, this hotel was amazing in both customer service and experience. We were picked up by the shuttle at the train station, the staff had our name and took us directly to the hotel on time. Upon arrival all paperwork was prepared and ready for us. Our room was extremely clean and exactly what we expected. The Onsen was beautiful, breakfast was good and the helpful of the staff was 10/10

This is one of our most unforgettable stays in Japan. I would go back and stay in this property again. The staff responded by email very diligently when we communicated about our need for a shuttle service from the train station. Although we were not able to avail of the service due to the incompatibility of schedule, they recommended other options that we got to utilize. The check-in experience was seamless, and the staff were incredibly warm and attentive throughout our stay. Our rooms were both upgraded to the Executive Suite and the Regency Suite. Both were very spacious, beautifully designed with natural wood and subtle Japanese touches, and featured breathtaking views of the surrounding forested hills. Our Regency Suite had views of Mt. Fuji and I can’t stop staring at its beauty! The private onsen-style bath in the room was a highlight too – perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The complimentary evening drinks in the cozy Living Room lounge created a relaxed and social atmosphere. The Yukata and Tanzen offered in each room provided for an authentic immersion in Japanese culture. We wore them to the Living Room and took family pictures with the Japanese cultural attire. It was a perfect evening! On the other hand, the dining options at breakfast offered a generous mix of Western and Japanese choices. My favorite was the miso soup with a variety of toppings and garnishes provided. The onsite Onsen was one of the highlights of our stay, since it was our first time to do so. Perhaps it was the most memorable part. Clean, peaceful, and with views of nature, it was truly an experience not to be missed. Overall, Hyatt Regency Hakone was a flawless retreat for anyone seeking tranquility, comfort, and world-class service. We left feeling refreshed, pampered, and eager to return.

This is an incredible property nestled in a beautiful green area of Gora. I felt like we were staying in a forest. The staff was very friendly and helped us with logistics, including a convenient and free shuttle service to Odawara station. The onsen was lovely and the entire property was very peaceful. Photos are of the suite, totally worth the splurge! We added a roll away bed and were very comfortable. Highly recommend!

Absolute magic! I highly recommend getting a suite. We were required to in order to fit our family of four. We had views of the lush green mountains with mountain Fuji on one side and the ocean on the other side. I was upset to read some poor reviews about the hotel bc they almost deterred us from staying here. Ignore anything negative you read bc this hotel bc it truly is amazing. It definitely meets typical Hyatt standards. In addition to amazing rooms, they have delicious food at their restaurants and shuttles on demand into Hakone town. Their staff was amazing. The onsen was peaceful and beautiful. This was a highlight of our visit to Japan!

The room is clean and fine - why doesn’t the Hyatt hotel group make the effort to update the lounge/sitting area? This would be a small effort and if done right a very positive outcome. At this time the furniture is not only outdated, but also worn and unclean. This area degrades the hotel unfortunately.

The resort is set at near the top of the hakone tozan line. It is easily walkable from the railway without a car. If you plan, they will pick you up, but if you are like us and don’t want a schedule, it’s still walkable from the railway (0.2mi). No car needed. The setting is peaceful, nestled among the maple trees. The rhododendron and azaleas were in bloom. The staff is gracious, the rooms (suites) have traditional tatami mats and you can sleep on a futon the mats or on a western bed. There is a small onsen onsite with soothing, warm water that overlooks a relaxing garden. Overall, it was my favorite stop in Japan. It’s easily accessible without a car, and highly recommended.

Outstanding. Our stay at the Hyatt was the best, staff went out of their way to help us with absolutely everything and make our stay special. The shuttle service was great and so helpful for us to fit in doing as much as possible. The room was perfect, we chose “Mountain View” and it was a great choice. The Uzumi spa was very clean and had everything we needed to relax and wind down. Kids were happy and enjoyed the games and books available in the drawing room. I highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel but staff was not particularly helpful or friendly. For the price I would look into somewhere a little more intimate. Best part was they offer a shuttle that will pick you up and drop you off but it only goes as far as a 6 minute drive. It’s only on request in person but we never had to wait for one.

Very dated from top to bottom. Spa was dated and not luxe at all. The food was just ok. The rooms were huge which was nice and they had a free shuttle. The front desk was accommodating. The language barrier from the staff was huge. The staff didn’t speak enough English to get by.
