Azulik - Adults Only

Light in rooms clearly to be improved. It is missing for this standing of hotel. The rooms are very nice otherwise. Cocktails can be enhanced with no entrance fee to rooftop bar for guests.

The architect and aesthetic is incredible, you feel like you’re in another world. Beyond gorgeous the only downside is at night in your room it gets very dark. They only give you candles and a bit of lighting. I would recommended them to add more light then candles bc god forbid someone misplaces a candle and burns the place since it’s made of all wood and straw.

The food and drinks are overpriced. My husband and I only end up eating one night at the hotel because the food was a bit dry. Their tacos are delicious and the food at the beach club was better than the restaurant

Was catastrofalic experience Too much noisy. Not kind staff. No lights, No shampoo, the jacauzzi in the balcony too much dirty. They forces you to use their taxi service, that it cost double price.

Was disappointed in the value compared to the price of staying at azulik. The nests are way over priced and don’t include anything you have to pay extra for dinner which I get is an experience but I don’t think it’s worth as much as the price listed. Also we had some very noisy annoying neighbors on top of us which came back and partied so didn’t get much sleep the last night so didn’t get the privacy of staying in a luxurious villa.

Well, the building looks exquisite and architecturally unique, however the services and facilities are terrible. The place is run by bunch of kids. We missed our flight because until 7:00 there was NO CONCIERGE,.. no one to take our luggages! I strongly recommend Not to get this place,.. if you care about comfort or luxury. There is No Showers! No electricity that is really stressful especially if you want to pack and leave early morning!!!! Definitely not recommended

Our stay at Azulik was overall a beautiful and memorable experience. The room itself was absolutely gorgeous—very unique, thoughtfully designed, and truly felt like a luxury escape immersed in nature. A few small things could have made the stay even better. The showerhead could definitely be improved, and there wasn’t a blanket readily available in the room, which would have been helpful since it gets quite cold at night. We also experienced the water going out one day for about 20 minutes, but once we reached out to staff, it was resolved quickly. During our stay, unfortunately only Kin Toh—the rooftop restaurant and bar—was open. Other restaurants at the resort were listed as available on OpenTable, so we missed out on having dinner one evening due to that confusion. When we did visit Kin Toh, no one ever came to our table to take our order, so we ended up leaving and ate down the block instead. The cleanliness of the hotel was great overall, and our room was cleaned daily. There were a few spiderwebs that could have been dusted, but nothing major. The staff was genuinely lovely and welcoming, and we especially enjoyed the breakfast restaurant—it was one of the highlights of our stay. One thing to keep in mind if you stay here is that lighting is very limited at night. Wearing gym shoes or flats is highly recommended, as walking around the property can be difficult—especially in heels. Because of the layout, stairs, and low lighting, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for older guests or anyone with mobility concerns. Azulik is undeniably stunning and offers a one-of-a-kind experience. With a bit more consistency in service and clearer communication, it could easily be exceptional.

We stayed at Azulik for 4 nights, paying around $1,000 per night (We booked way in advance and even paid in advance to get it that cheap), and this was hands down one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve ever had and to make it worse it's our honeymoon. Let me be very clear: we knew what Azulik was about: no electricity, candlelight, no curtains, unconventional villas. We were fine with all of that. What we were not prepared for is the complete lack of service, organization, and accountability, which is unacceptable at this price point. Broken promises from day one: At check-in, we were explicitly promised a “soul cleansing” experience. After checking in, it suddenly became “they’re too busy.” We followed up multiple times, day after day, until it finally happened on the fourth day, only after repeated reminders. If you advertise something, honor it without guests having to chase staff. Front desk that simply doesn’t do its job: The staff member who checked us in, Melanie, was shockingly disengaged. Requests were ignored, follow-ups went unanswered, and nothing happened unless we chased it repeatedly. We were told we would have a concierge to assist us with the stay and activities, this never happened until, again, after multiple follow-ups. On day four, we finally received a WhatsApp message from a newly assigned concierge, Paola. Constant contradictions & no access to advertised areas: We asked Paola about accessing the roof for sunset. She clearly said no reservation was needed for hotel guests. Fast forward to today, while writing this review: suddenly we’re told we’re not allowed to access the roof. This has been the pattern for four nights straight every day there’s a new excuse, a new rule, or a new contradiction. Nothing is consistent, nothing is reliable. Zero basic hospitality: Do not expect anything close to 4- or 5-star service. You must constantly ask for: Water, Towels, Shampoo, Napkins Nothing comes automatically. Nothing is proactive. We even had to use towels as curtains just to get some privacy, since there are none in the villa. Again, we accepted the concept. But when you charge luxury prices, service must compensate. Here, it does not exist. Broken villa door on arrival: When we checked in, the door to our villa was broken and could not be locked. We refused to leave our belongings unsecured, which resulted in losing 3–4 hours of our day waiting for a technician to fix something that should never have been an issue at check-in. Beach club = public beach + bad food The beach club is completely overrated. It’s essentially a public beach with some background music and overpriced, tasteless food. Nothing exclusive, nothing memorable, nothing worth the cost. Azulik sells an image not an experience. For the price we paid, there are far better options in Tulum offering real service, real comfort, and real hospitality. We visited several of them and can confidently say: this is not worth the money. My advice to future guests: save your money. Azulik is all hype, zero delivery.
