Hangzhou Hua Chen International hotel

Conveniently located for West Lake, metro, shopping and eateries. Breakfast is very good.

Have been in Hangzhou a few times, first time at this hotel overnight for one night before going on to Shanghai. Stayed in this area earlier in the year, but at a different hotel. Was pleasantly surprised by the condition (excellent) of the room and overall experience. Breakfast wasn't included in my "package" but I paid the Y78 for the breakfast on the 19th Floor. Do it! Decent breakfast, but the views of Hangzhou and West Lake was worth the price of the breakfast. This would be my go-to place next time in Hangzhou again.

Nice hotel in ideal location to lake and shopping.

It's a really good option in downtown Hangzhou - it's clean and central and we have enjoyed it. Pros are definitely location, location, location. Cons are that very very few of the staff speak English and its sometimes hard to communicate. The staff upstairs at the breakfast are sometimes very surly, there is one lady who smiles, the rest no. And first thing in the morning it's not that pleasant. The breakfasts - while plentiful - are the same day in day out with very few changes. Not enough green vegetables and way too much processed meat. But the view of the lake from the coffee shop is wonderful and makes up for a lot. We will definitely return because the location is ideal!

Good location. Close to the west lake and subway. Close to the malls. Convenient to restaurants.

The hotel was nice and comfortable. I do think there should have been complimentary breakfast but the staff, room, and cleanliness is top compared to other hotels I've stayed in while in China (specifically Shanghai). Also, it's conveniently located to West Lake and there's a mall that's about a 6 minute walk away; there are mostly Chinese restaurants but we did try a Thai restaurant in IN77 that had a lunch special (pretty good) & there's a MAAN Coffee within walking distance that serves waffles & sandwiches. I would recommend them & especially the location.

We stayed in the "business room" which was supposedly to be better than regular rooms. The staff were not very attentive. The hotels room is way too small comparing to the the pictures shown. The location is a bit hard to find since it has a small front door. not worth the price at all. I will not come back again.

There is no double beds room available which I reserved when we checked in. We have to get it next day.

I chose this hotel as an inexpensive option near West Lake and was satisfied with the location, room and price. The room and bathroom were a good size, and clean; the bed and pillows were comfortable (though with heavier covers than I'd expect for mid-summer). The air-conditioning worked well; there was a small fridge, and two small bottles of water and fruit were provided free, a nice touch. The staff spoke enough English to check me in and call taxis, but the level was very minimal. The staff at the restaurant was flummoxed when I wanted breakfast or just coffee when it wasn't included in my rate. Completely over their heads. More cons: The room decor was a bit dated, and though there was a kettle, no tea or coffee was provided. The airport shuttle stops next door, but the office workers there spoke zero English and printed info was unclear, so I gave up. My taxi from the airport late at night cost 250; a grueling afternoon taxi to the airport cost 200.​

Location is perfect, near metro station (same line as the East Railway station). A few minutes walk to night market and the West Lake. Clean and comfortable. The suite room is spacious with two bathrooms. Air-con and all facilities work well. Breakfast is on the 19th floor with the nice lake view and full of options ranging from Chinese to Western standard.
