"Memorable Stay with Great Food and Service, but Rooms Need Upgrades"

8.0

We recently stayed at The Westin Sohna Resort & Spa for one night and overall had a very enjoyable and memorable experience. The property, food, and hospitality truly stand out and are what make this stay special. Dining was a highlight of our visit. Dinner at the Red Brick Room was excellent — everything we tried was delicious, and the desserts were outstanding. The service made the experience even better. Suraj, who took care of our table, was attentive, warm, and extremely efficient, and really elevated our dining experience. Ranjana, both at dinner and during high tea, was equally pleasant and helpful. The high tea itself offered a good variety of snacks and teas, all well prepared, though a bit more seating would make the experience more comfortable during busy times. Breakfast the next morning was equally impressive. The spread was great, and the chole bhature deserve a special mention — flavorful, soft, and not overly oily, which is rare. Suraj once again ensured we had a wonderful start to the day. After breakfast, we spent some time exploring the resort and were reminded how unique this property is. The lush greenery, butterfly park, small zoo, fruit- and vegetable-laden trees, and even spotting peacocks from our patio made the experience feel serene and special — a true escape from the city. Although there is no executive lounge at the property, as Marriott Bonvoy Titanium members, we were provided welcome amenities along with lounge passes that could be redeemed at any restaurant for drinks and snacks. This was a thoughtful gesture and helped offset the absence of a dedicated lounge. At checkout, Wasim from Concierge was extremely helpful — promptly arranging a buggy, assisting with our luggage, and helping load everything into our car, which we truly appreciated. That said, the room itself was the weakest part of the stay and could benefit from significant upgrades. The heating system was ineffective, requiring an additional oil heater that still wasn’t sufficient for the size of the villa. The bathroom, in particular, was uncomfortable in winter — no heating, very cold at night, water leakage outside the shower area, fluctuating water temperature, dim lighting, and some plumbing issues. These are areas that clearly need attention and detracted from what was otherwise a very pleasant stay. Overall, despite the room-related shortcomings, the excellent food, warm service, and beautiful property left us with positive memories. With some improvements to the rooms, this could easily be an outstanding experience. As it stands, we had a very good one-night stay and would rate it a solid 4 out of 5.

"Horrible experience avoid this resort"

2.0

If I could rate lower than 1 star, I would. We came here for a family stay and the experience was extremely disappointing for the price they charge. The property needs much better maintenance and the service levels are far from what you could xpect. Despite informing the hotel earlier that we were traveling with a baby, we were denied early check-in just minutes before 3 PM. What made it worse was that we saw other guests getting early check-in easily and were told that preference is only for higher room categories. This felt unfair and insensitive. The staff was also quite rude and uninterested, barely communicating properly and refusing to connect us to senior management, saying there was no General Manager available twice during the stay we checked. The room condition was unacceptable — dusty, poorly maintained, stained curtains, cleanliness issues in the washroom, shower not working properly, and even a lizard inside the room. No hot water as well, it was barely warm. The resort clearly needs to shut down for few months and under-go serious renovation. Food quality was average, bicycles were rusted and not suitable for kids. Zoo area and horse area was not maintained. Overall facilities did not justify the cost at all. Even the road leading to the property is in bad condition. Our room and bedsheet had pet hair all over and the stale stench of a dog's breathing. there were paw marks also in some places. It seems like they dont have separate rooms for people with pets. Felt very unhygienic and gross. Overall, this place is overpriced, badly managed, and nowhere close to what it claims to be. Definitely not recommended, especially for families with toddlers.

"Horrible and complete disaster"

2.0

The Westin Sohna was a complete disaster. The room was dirty, the towels and bedsheets were stained, and the pillows were honestly disgusting. I couldn’t even let my toddler crawl on the floor — that’s how unhygienic it felt. Hygiene is clearly not a priority here. The staff couldn’t care less — rude, careless, and completely zoned out. Every request felt like a burden to them. The service was painfully slow, unprofessional, and honestly pathetic for a resort that charges this much. We literally had to call multiple times just to get basic drinking water, and even something as simple as asking for fresh towels took forever. The hi-tea in the evening was a joke — stale food, zero effort, and nothing even remotely worth eating. On top of everything, the delays were unbelievable. You call for help and nobody shows up, or they come after an hour like they’re doing you a favour. There’s zero urgency, zero responsibility, and absolutely no respect for a guest’s time. And to make it worse, there was not a single senior management member available to even listen to feedback or take responsibility. Overall, it felt neglected, poorly managed, and absolutely not worth the money. Surely one of the worst stays I’ve had — never going back and definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

"Overhyped not worth at all"

2.0

Pathetic service and even more pathetic attitude of staff. The staff is standing and talking to each other and not ready to help. No senior manager at resrayrants also. The zoo area is dirty and stinky and you cannot even let your kids roam there its so foul. Their shop is overpriced selling items from local shops at 500 percent markup. The spa is unmaintained and dirty with no maintenance. Also there is nothing at all to do, especially for kids they advertise so much but not worth the hype or the high price.

"A Resort That Has Completely Lost the Plot"

2.0

Westin Sohna turned out to be a disastrous mistake. What is showcased as a premium wellness getaway is, in reality, an ill-maintained property with shockingly poor service standards, zero ownership from management, and an attitude that makes guests feel like an inconvenience instead of valued customers. Food quality is far from what you'd expect from a reputed hotel brand. Repetitive salads, bland preparations, excessively creamy desserts that taste like something from a low-grade bakery — absolutely no thought, freshness, or finesse. For the prices they charge, this is unacceptable. Service levels are sub-par. Staff barely responds the first time, simple queries at the front desk lead to confusion, and basic information like restaurant timings or pricing is unknown to the very people handling guests. Hygiene is another horror story — the bar area smelled unpleasant, Tangra restaurant was unbearably noisy with painfully slow service, and golf carts only arrive after endless follow-ups. The villa condition is even worse. Dusty, poorly kept, visibly worn-down furniture, stained curtains, malfunctioning showers, and bathrooms that clearly haven’t seen proper deep cleaning in ages. This isn’t “rustic charm”; this is neglect. Instead of accountability, all we experienced was finger-pointing. Housekeeping blames engineering, engineering blames someone else, and absolutely no one takes responsibility. And the most shocking part — the General manager is permanently unavailable or not reachable. We asked for the name and the front desk couldn't even tell us the name of the General manager. Guests can be uncomfortable, distressed, and repeatedly reporting issues — and leadership simply chooses to stay invisible. Nothing about this place reflects the standards of a premium Marriott/Westin property. It functions like a forgotten hotel surviving purely on marketing, not on a luxury experience. I wouldn’t recommend this resort to anyone looking for a quality, comfortable or respectful hospitality experience. Save your money and your peace of mind.

"A very expensive Horrorific Experience called Westin Sohna"

2.0

We just had a horrific experience at Westin Sohna. A big regret that we paid so much to buy this experience. In our room electricity keeps on going off and there is no heat source provided in rooms in peak winter. When issues raised, management serves it with utmost apathy and blames customer. In our room this electricity issue continues and like more than 6 to 7 times this issue happened. And response we got was that we cannot disturb General Manager. I am typing this message while we are at Westin Sohna, right now. As all other means of redressal of issue have failed.

"Review of Westin Sohna ( Dec25) - do disappointing"

4.0

We had a below average experience with our 2 night and 3 day stay at Westin (Sohna). Having stayed in multiple 4/5 star properties across the globe, this one is really below par with basics missing. Westin (Sohna) feels like a 5 star hotel from the 1990s as it has fallen behind times and upkeep is sub-park for the price being charged. No coffee machine in the room No night teas (only caffeinated options) No smart TV in rooms Gym equipment didn’t work (except one treadmill), no trainer or attendant in the gym Marriott app and mobile key didn’t work (I didn’t even get points despite booking on official app) Room key cards get discharged every few hours, we needed to ask for keys on more than 5 occasions No turn down service in evenings (no refill of coffee, tea, water till you call) No fresh milk or alternate milk options in the room (only have milk powder from 1900s) Need to call for towels, bath mats and slippers, hygiene not up to the mark Golf cart takes forever to arrive Kid facilities / play zone feels like from 1980s, super old, rusty, dusty and at the standard of a local festival Tangra (new Chinese restaurant) is hyped and over priced, servers do not know the menu and we had to place our order and show exact item from menu 3-4 times Ranjana (F&B manager) is the only saving grace, she was extremely warm towards us and great at her service.

"Truly memorable anniversary stay"

10.0

We chose this hotel to celebrate our anniversary and were delighted with how special our stay felt from the moment we arrived. The room was spotless, beautifully arranged, and had thoughtful touches that made the occasion feel personal. Santosh from housekeeping went above and beyond each day, ensuring the room was perfectly set up, arranging a lovely towel decoration, and even helping with a small surprise for my spouse. His attention to detail, warm attitude, and quick response to any request made us feel genuinely cared for. Because of Santosh and the overall service, this anniversary will remain one of our most cherished memories, and we would happily return and recommend this hotel to other couples.
