"A ruse"

4.0

Booked 3 nights on a deal we found . The condition was to attend a small seminar/ talk on the Karma experience. Nope, we had a one to one with a lovely chap about the Karma experience which was a basic cold selling of a holiday membership starting price £5000 or up to £10,000 for the elite package. Felt like a cold hard sell of a pyramid scheme. The Salford itself”manager “ was called to give a sweetener “ so called free holiday” and we were offered dinner in him ! This all felt very wrong . The hotel is a beautiful historic building . No spa by the way.. The room was pretty, breakfast not included and dinner had limited menu and overpriced. We ate elsewhere & had breakfast at the local farmshop . Highly recommend that breakfast. Don’t be fooled all is not as it seems .. we cut the trip short and headed out elsewhere.

"Few issues to be dealth with in this amazing resort."

8.0

The place and the ambience is quite amazing. The hotel management told us nothing about the wedding ceremony on the grounds that was happening on the day I landed. This has been mentioned quite a few times by many members and they still don't take action to notify members of upcoming events during stay. Maybe that's too profitable and less important then members. Parked cars by the entrance roundabout creates a blindspot for those coming into the main reception from the rooms. I almost got run over by a car and was saved by a feet or so and would have been hit if I had not abruptly stopped myself. I told the reception about ot and asked them they should not let anyone park their cars on the reception roundabout and next day the cars were back there, although there were lots of empty parking quite few feet away. But the management did take any action and the problem will probably remain so. So if you are visiting or going to the reception area please be careful. But over all the staff was very nice and cordial and quite helpful during the whole stay.

"Comfortable and Cozy"

10.0

All the Karma Servers were truly amazing during our stay but we especially enjoyed Charlie serving us the last night. He is very friendly, attentive and thoughtful. However thanks to everyone else too, we felt that the girls also took good care of us and was always around to help.

"“Great Staff Support, But Lots of Steps"

10.0

The staff were very welcoming and attentive. Restaurant staff, especially Charlie, was awesome and really made me feel valued. I had mentioned my injured ankle before arriving, but was given a room on the second floor with stairs, which made things a bit challenging. The staff kindly tried to help with the bags, but it was still some extra effort walking up the steps. Unlike other Karma residences, there was no kitchen here, but overall the team did their best to make the stay pleasant. Breakfast is continental, not many choices, but still okay to start the day.

"A VERY PLEASANT STAY"

10.0

Had a very pleasant four night stay in a very unique hotel with loads of history and very pleasant and relaxing surroundings. Our dining experience was excellent. Very nicely presented food with very attentive and friendly staff. Particularly good service provided by Willow, Laura, Cam and Cheryl - well done them. Would certainly recommend Karma Salford Hall to anyone wanting a quiet base for a visit to this very pleasant part of the UK .

"The staff absolutely make this hotel!"

8.0

We stayed here for 3 nights & we loved every minute of it. We arrived and were greeted by Gracie on reception, despite being on crutches and in a leg brace she still offered to show us to our room (which of course we declined). We got to our room (room 26) and it wasn’t the nicest looking room we’ve ever stayed in but it is a very old building. It was very clean though & was cleaned everyday we were there! We also had an issue with the shower but it was fixed very quickly whilst we were out. There was a lovely birthday treat when I arrived in the room, which was a happy Monday plate with brownies and a personalised chocolate. It was such a nice touch, we had arranged for a bottle of Prosecco to be in the room also and that was there in an ice bucket on a stand. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable as you can feel the springs but it didn’t stop us from sleeping well. The walls are paper thin though so we could hear everything from the people in the room next door. We went for dinner in the tempest restaurant on site during our first evening and it was lovely. The service was fantastic, we were looked after by a young lad called Charlie, he was really friendly, polite and attentive. The food was very reasonably priced but it was very delicious. We then went into the bar area for the evening quiz, the bar area is very small and cosy and doesn’t have too many people in. The quiz wasn’t done by a host, you just get given a piece of paper with 20 questions on, which you have to write down the answers to before all swapping and marking one another’s. It was good fun though. The girl behind the bar (Maddison) was really lovely, she was chatty and polite and really helpful. The drinks could be put on your room tab along with the food, so that’s very convenient. The following day we went to Broadway Tower, which we would highly recommend doing, we went on a lovely walk and the weather was great for us. We then went to the cheese and wine night at 5:30 - 6:30 that is held on a Friday for guests in the marquee. It was fabulous, all wine and cheese was free and it gave people the opportunity to mix and chat. We then went into Stratford upon Avon in the evening and went to a lovely restaurant called the Vintner, where we had the most delicious meal before walking round the river. During the mornings myself and my husband would get up and go and use the onsite gym, it is in a little outhouse and is quite small but it has everything we needed & there was never anyone in there. You just need to ask reception for the key. Continental breakfast was included in our stay and it had a great selection of pasties, toast, crumpets, cheese, meat, cereal, fruit and yoghurts. So we didn’t feel the need to purchase any hot food. Naomi was our breakfast host and she was so pleasant, very cheerful and chatty and nothing was too much trouble. She also ended up working all day due to staff shortages, so was still working into the night after starting at 7am….She was still as lovely as pleasant as she was during the morning. We went into Chipping Campden for a wonder round, which was a very beautiful place, we went for a walk and some lunch in Bantams tea room, which we would highly recommend visiting. We then went into Broadway village during the evening for some food at The Swan and again, it was really great. Broadway is a beautiful village with lots going on aswell. We missed the live singer in the hotel on the Saturday night which we were disappointed about but we wanted to get out and about. All of the places we visited were around a 20 minute drive away from the hotel. There was a games room in the hotel but we didn’t get time to have a look at it but there seemed to be lots of people in there, from what I heard they have a dart board and pool table in there. I would highly recommend this hotel and the staff absolutely make it! Yes, it is a bit old and tired but it is a listed building so you kind of expect it, but it has lots of character.
