"Tikida Beach Hotel - fantastic caring staff"

8.0

Nice comfortable beach front hotel with excellent staff. Adults only. V clean. I was worried after some bad reviews but we had a nice stay. Q a few older people - and mostly French and English - and a lot of people who never leave the pool. V comfy loungers and double bed loungers. I did pilates and stretch classes which was nice option to have. Q an over priced spa which I didn’t use. Food was good though we did tire of varying (but delicious!) tagines every lunch. Weak link was breakfast - some fresher pastries and better coffee other than machine coffee would’ve been nice. Staff are smiley, attentive and v hard working. Evening entertainment available and we saw a good dance show which was good but we don’t tend to worry about hotel Entertainment. A nice hotel with v clean and spacious beach and promenade. We will return to Morocco.

"Tui Blue Riu Tikida Beach hotel in Agadir, Morocco - EXCEPTIONAL"

10.0

Categories Blog Jackson Thanks for your review! TUI logo TUI Your review is pending.Read more Jackson 24 reviews GB Rated 5 out of 5 stars Another wonderful North African… Another wonderful North African holiday, this time at Tui Blue Riu Tikida Beach hotel in Agadir, Morocco. A really beautiful hotel – we are already pining for the fabulous gardens, exceptional food, friendly staff and those two amazing pools. In the many outdoor pools I have swum in, none has ever been so well-heated as the smaller pool at this hotel. Of course, it could be something to do with the energy of the amazing Sara from the animation team, who led the daily Aqua sessions, alongside all the other classes she ran so well. We loved the friendliness and mix of different nationalities staying at the hotel. The hotel is well located, just a few steps to the beach or a great stroll (or run) along the seafront into Agadir. Getting around is easy with a nearby bus stop and lots of cheap taxis, just 20 MAD to the Souk el Had. Agadir is a fast-evolving modern city, so you might not get the traditional feel of other Moroccan cities, although the hotel itself is beautiful and in a very traditional style. But it's a great place to be, and you can easily get out to smaller villages in the mountains or further down the coast if you hire a car. Tui runs various trips – we especially liked the Middle Atlas and the women's argan cooperative. We had a great guide called Rachid, a true storyteller who could make facts and figures fun!

"Restaurant Staff"

6.0

First time at this hotel. Reception staff/manager very helpful when we asked to change our room. Hotel rooms and public areas all good. Our issue was with the staff in the restaurants who seemed to be under the impression they were there to chat with each other and not work. There were a handful who were professional and we endeavoured to sit in their areas.

"Nice hotel but food is very poor"

6.0

Well where do we start. We’ve just spent 5 days here for some much needed winter sun. The hotel itself is lovely, great pool and the rooms are nice and spacious. The only downside is the pillows are that big/hard we’ve not slept properly and had a bad neck/headache in the morning. 4 days in we’ve finally got some normal pillows after asking reception. The food can only be described as extremely average, in 4 nights we’ve had one nice meal. The breakfast is so poor - stale cereal, gone off milk, fresh omelette cooked in masses of oil which was inedible. We’ve been living off bread/toast. The lunch is okay, if you get a panini from the pool bar that’s your best bet but the chicken is questionable. The drinks are all local spirits, wine is okay if you get an ice cube in it. We’ve been drinking pina coladas which are the best cocktail by far. Mohammed has been amazing at looking after us and making sure we always had a drink in hand. We booked the À la carte restaurant hoping for a better meal and could only describe this as worse. The starter was okay but the beef fillet for main came with carrots and veg and nothing else. No sauce no carbs?? And the desserts - inedible. We both left at this point as we were so frustrated. The best meal we’ve had all holiday was some Doritos we got from a local shop, and an iced coffee we got when visiting the marina. Just disappointing for our first trip to Morocco.

"Definitely worth a visit."

10.0

Exceptional value for money. Good location, clean, comfortable, pleasant staff, and wonderful choice of food and drinks. Being a Tui Blu hotel no children and leisure activities. Sara who led fitness activities was such a pleasant and knowledgeable girl. Unfortunately hotel cleaners seemed to be so busy cleaning the rest of the hotel they ignored her request to clean the fitness area. Ten minutes a day would have solved the problem. Definitely recommend this hotel. Really good value for money. People we spoke to had made several visits.

"Amazing hotel"

10.0

Amazing hotel don't be put off by the negative reviews. I booked the hotels in a rush after my holiday to Dubai was cancelled 3 days before travelling. Once booked I viewed the reviews and was starting to regret the lack of research. The hotel is situated on the promenade and is ideally located for the beach and walking out. If you want to visit the centre of town, cable car or marina there are always taxis near the hotel as these are about 40 mins walk. The hotel is spotless and the cleaners are friendly and can't do enough. The bedroom was spacious and it had a lovely view over the pool and side view of the sea. There is a small fridge and kettle in the room which is great to keep drinks cold. The room that we had was on the second floor and was quite and had morning sun. There are 2 outside swimming pools with the smaller one heated. I swam in the larger pool most days which was initially cold but fine after the first few strokes. The restaurants has a huge selection of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a good selection of meat, fish, vegetables, salads, pasta, pizza and much more. The restaurant / bar staff are friendly and efficient. They are more attentive to guests that provide tips but if you do not wish to tip each time you will still get good service but not as attentive. The exercise classes provided each day by Sara from TUI Blue were excellent. The exercise area outside needs cleaning due to dust / bird poo and this was not done at all for the week I was there despite requests by guests and Sara. Whilst at the hotel I had my birthday and without any prompting / request a vase of roses was put in the bedroom and I was provided with Prosecco and a birthday cake at dinner. A lovely surprise.

"Lovely Hotel"

10.0

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. The hotel has a wonderful setting, with the promenade a few steps away and the pool area is lovely. We were also very lucky to have some amazing weather. We also thought the food was excellent, especially the different varieties of fish on offer. The rooms are lovely, we were put in a room overlooking a hotel that was being renovated, when I asked if we could be moved, nothing was too much trouble and they did indeed move us to a room on the opposite side of the hotel overlooking the pool. The entertainment was hit and miss, we also enjoyed the dance troop and the band on our last night, but the other evenings were not so good, we do feel this is an area that can be improved. In summary, we loved our stay here and are already looking to book again.

"Move over mounjaro"

4.0

The good? This hotel is lovely. Well laid out, huge pool (not heated so too cold to actually get in in Feb), lots of lounger space, nice staff. The rooms are large and have everything you need but also have those glass bathroom doors that don’t close so not great if you’re with friends. The place is clean, there’s lots of indoor seating. The souk. Huge and Deffs worth a £5 taxi ride. The not so good? The food. There’s plenty of it but it all tastes so bland. The daily tangine was plain and watery and most meat was cooked til it was dry as a bone. Decent pizza. Panini a life saver. Huge selection of deserts that look beautiful but have zero flavour of anything. Think dust. Ok ice cream. The beach. This is a surf beach with rollers coming in off the Atlantic. There are no gentle lapping waves and you won’t be getting in without a wetsuit and a rescue jet ski. The worst? The bar selection. There is ONE brand of wine available in white, rose or red. Think vinegar. I’ve no idea how the French guests didn’t riot. There is one local lager on tap which left a soapy taste. No other options. The cocktails are all premixed in jugs, all taste the same (tooth fizzing sweet) and are made using some sort of diluting juice - the fruit juice has never actually been inside a fruit. The beach walkway is nice but there’s nothing round about to walk to unless half built concrete structures are your thing. The ‘marina’ looked abandoned. In summary. This is the only all inclusive holiday I’ve gone on and LOST weight. 2lb off. Move over mounjaro.

"Third Visit – Excellent Hotel but Evening Entertainment Needs Improvement"

8.0

We have just returned from our third February stay at the Hotel Riu Tikida Beach, and once again the overall experience was very positive. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained and the staff throughout are consistently friendly, professional, and welcoming. Our bedroom was excellent — spacious, comfortable, and kept in immaculate condition. The housekeeping team did a very thorough clean every day, fresh towels were provided daily, and the minibar was replenished regularly with soft drinks. The bedding was also extremely comfortable, which made for a very relaxing stay. The pool area is very well maintained and a lovely place to spend the afternoon. We stayed on an all-inclusive basis and the food was consistently very good throughout our stay. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner offered plenty of choice and variety, and the restaurant staff were always attentive and helpful. As always, the Moroccan hospitality was warm and genuine, and we were fortunate to enjoy excellent February weather. However, the one area where the hotel fell short this year was the evening entertainment. One night featured a dance troupe who were excellent and very enjoyable. Unfortunately, the entertainment on the other nights was disappointing and well below the standard we experienced during our previous two visits. One singer in particular struggled with the songs and even got some lyrics wrong, which made the performances difficult to enjoy. Activities such as musical bingo also felt rather basic and not really what one would expect from a four-star hotel. Another issue was the seating in the bar and entertainment area. Many of the chairs were very low and quite worn, with little padding left, which made them uncomfortable, particularly for the age group the hotel tends to attract at this time of year. It is a pity, because in most other respects the hotel excels. The rooms, cleanliness, food, facilities, and staff are all excellent, creating a very enjoyable holiday experience. However, the evening programme is an important part of the overall stay, especially during a week-long visit. We will certainly return to Morocco again next year, as it is a destination we enjoy very much. However, unless the evening entertainment and seating arrangements are improved, we would probably choose a different hotel next time. It would be wonderful to see the standard of entertainment return to the level we experienced during our first two stays, as the hotel otherwise provides a fantastic holiday experience.

"Disappointing"

4.0

Arrived Thursday evening to be shown to one of only 4 rooms in the hotel without a balcony, only a tiny window. The room is also right opposite the lift so constant noise from other guests using it. The fridge does not work, the bathroom lights flash like a disco and the shelf for soap, shampoo etc in the bathroom is hanging off. Today (Saturday) I returned to the room from the pool at 4pm to find the door unlocked and a red light showing on the handle. I could have lost my iPad, golf clubs etc etc. Reception now ask that I stay in the room until maintenance get her to sort it out, guess what, the maintenance guy is not on site! How long do I have to wait? This is the worst start to any holiday I’ve had in 20 years and I won’t be coming back to this hotel again.
