Excellence Playa Mujeres - Adults Only All Inclusive

We had an incredible stay at Excellence Playa Mujeres, and the staff truly made my husband’s birthday celebration unforgettable. A huge thank you to Sully, Josue, Edgar, and Jesus (the beach concierge) who went above and beyond to make the day special. Their attention to detail and genuine kindness did not go unnoticed. Jackie, the Guest Relations Manager, is always incredible. She consistently makes guests feel valued and ensures everything runs smoothly. Miguel at the Lobster House was an outstanding waiter—attentive, friendly, and truly elevated our dining experience. And Jorge at the Magna Lounge continues to exceed our expectations every visit. His service and hospitality are simply exceptional. The staff at Excellence Playa Mujeres is the reason we keep coming back. Thank you all for making this birthday celebration so memorable.

Very nice place to stay - always being attended to and friendly staff throughout the resort. Once I get the champagne in my hand upon arrival is relax for the rest of your stay!

Myself and my partner stayed at Excellence Playa Mujeres for the first time in February 2026. We stayed in a junior swim up suite back near the lazy river. This room type was incredible , it offered privacy with ease of access for a quick swim. Not to far down the river is a bar and poolside service is also available throughout the day. The room temperature was very comfortable for being in the ground level and all staff work incredibly hard and are extremely friendly. This is one of the cleanest properties I’ve ever been to. The service is incredible you feel spoiled. I’ve tried every restaurant besides the one included with excellence club and the variety and quality of food was amazing. This isn’t a party resort but that doesn’t mean there is any lack of activities. There are plenty of short activities to be involved with throughout the day. If you are looking for some relaxation , amazing service , great food and great drinks this place is for you. The beach front of this property is large and there seemed to be a private spot for anyone to hangout no matter where you were on the resort. We enjoyed it so much we booked with another excellence property for next year to try their different options. I have a feeling we will be back at this resort! When you arrive you are greater with “Welcome Home” which I can’t wait to hear again after spending a week there!

Imagine being taken away for your 65th bd with my husband, kids, brother, sister in law, and niece and 1/2 your time there was spent in bed and bathroom with a stomach infection caused by the food. I did not drink the water I was very careful. I have emailed management 3 times asking for some type of refund and it has fallen upon deaf ears. It was a very expensive trip, one missing out on all the food beverages and events for 1/2 my trip. Something to consider before booking this place. Plus, we were locked in my brother’s room for 40 minutes. They had to break down the door to get us out. Look elsewhere plenty of beautiful places nearby!!

This is our third stay here. Still a beautiful resort with wonderful staff. There has been slippage in service through time and the physical facility is definitely due for a refresh

WHOA! This resort, staff and meals for exceeded our expectations! It was the best All-Inclusive resort we've stayed. Over the past 20 years, my wife and I have stayed at many of the leading resorts throughout the Caribbean. This is the TOP! We tried very hard to find something they need to improve upon. We could not. They are simply Excellent.

We went at a high travel time so the rooms were expensive. Excellence club. The food was mid at best. The drinks were great. The entertainment was mid. Overall, we won’t be back. The value just isn’t there.

The property is so beautiful. Very clean and every employee says hello! the martini bar in the lobby is beautiful. ask Cesar. He was anmazing and made the most delicious martinis!

We started coming to Excellence Playa Mujeres in January 2021 and were so impressed with it that we have returned each year and after many failed attempts to find anything else as nice as this resort we now have added extra trips to come twice a year. Most recently we visited the end of January and I am continuously amazed, just when I didn’t think I could fall in love with this resort any more I do. I am instantly overcome with happy tears when I walk through those beautiful wooden doors, so grateful to experience a place this beautiful. From the minute you arrive you are greeted by warm smiles that continue throughout your entire stay, I have literally never seen so many smiling, happy faces, that just instantly brighten your day! From the managers, Miriam, Victor, Jacki, Leslie, Ruben, Veronica, and Grecia always walking the grounds, checking in with all the guests on a regular basis to make sure everything is going ok to every staff member you encounter when you are walking around the resort, it is such a positive vibe. The grounds of this resort are immaculate, the staff work tirelessly every moment of the day to make sure every detail is taken care of. Every morning we were greeted at breakfast by Daniel and Antonio at lobster house or Alan at magna who were so cheerful and really set the mood for the day, they even remembered what we liked from past trips, little things like this just make a guest feel so special. Throughout the day we were well taken care of by the concierge staff headed up by the amazing Josue, the entire team Edgar, Sully, Jesus, and David was top notch and we wanted for nothing. The wait staff, Floricel, Alberto, Yessi, and Isabel kept the drinks and snacks coming and kept us entertained! Now let’s talk about restaurants, I consider myself sort of a foodie and I will say I have never had a bad meal at Excellence Playa Mujeres. The great thing about an AI is that you can order many different things and explore new dishes, I was never left hungry. I am sad to say I didn’t catch the name of all of the amazing restaurant managers but Josafat at the Grill, Eduardo at Agave, and Gloria at Spice, wow, just top notch!!! Now no evening is complete without drinks and a trip up to excellence club lounge to see our amazing friend Jorge, we joke that he has a camera in the stairway because he will have your drinks made before you come through the door, he is seriously a true gem, then you have to finish off the night with one of the famous Cesar’s espresso martinis (well the hubby does, I’m a tequila girl)!! As my husband once said to me there is sand and palm trees anywhere, what keeps us coming back to this resort is the staff and their overwhelming kindness, the staff at this resort has become like family and they make each and every stay so memorable, I am so grateful to each and every staff member for taking such good care of us. I know I am leaving so much out of this review and probably forgetting a few staff members, I blame that on the amazing waitstaff for keeping the yummy drinks coming! In closing life is short, book the trip, be prepared to become addicted and the only way to get over the sadness of leaving the resort is to book another trip!!
