El Mouradi Port El Kantaoui

So we have travelled a bit in Africa and will try different foods & experiences - so despite reading poor reviews weeks before we were due to stay here - we thought it cant be THAT bad ... can it - we are of the "holidays are what you make them " type of people but how wrong could we be .... ?! Check in was quite a relatively easy experience despite not having a "voucher" printed off for the booking - on your phone doesn't count here - so i emailed a copy of it to the hotel and was accepted. - Paid the tax got our all inclusive bands and was then told to go into the Restaurant for food, before going to the room - was 9pm - so we thought fair play - when we got in - waiters fought over a fairly empty place to seat you in their area, at a dirty table ?!- seems they do this to warrant a tip they clean a dirty table rather than sit you at a clean one ? We had a walk around and tbh there want much on offer - but whilst doing this we were subject to a young group of Algerian lads kicking off in restaurant shouting and throwing things around - at that point we left and got our cases and went to our fully carpeted room (!) . A decent view greeted us from the balcony of the pool and the Seafront - room was basic but did the job - 3 beds a fridge a TV, cleanish shower but a non flushable toilet - tbf the maintenance guy in reception came and fixed it straight away - glad he did the way the holiday went ! A knock at the door was from another guy from restaurant who had bought us up some food after seeing us leave earlier - was a flimsy pizza and what i later learnt to be a brisk - not the best but we appreciated the effort - as we were hungry we walked the short distance from hotel around corner to the Hard Rock café to get some food and a bit of entertainment. The room had zero information on when things were happening , where anything was Times for breakfast, lunch and dinner etc etc.... ( also no smoke alarm ! ) Next day - the lobby was FULL of people on all the seats on their phones - turns out the "Free Wifi" only works there - so for around £12 get yourself an eSim from the onsite shop - who also sell "bits" to help during your stay. There are 2 pools - the top pool nearer beach is the bigger and less busy one - and gets the sun all day long - the smaller near hotel one - hosts all the Animation activities throughout the day. Speaking of Animation - very much if your face fits type of deal - we always join in activities - breaks the day up - helps the team keep busy and gets you socialising with all walks of life - not here though unless they low on numbers - some activities are repetitive - darts twice a day etc etc - if you have a teenage daughter - watch them like hawks - some of these guys are out for one thing - ALSO the local lads that stay there are also all over the girls - regardless if they are with partners or not - but definitely pray on the young and impressionable females. The All inclusive drinks - not as advertised - you can get beer - not many more options - ask for wine at 11:30am and get told "later" - ask for a cocktail "red" or "blue" options and its hit and miss if they put alcohol in them. The water situation bit strange but they do have water coolers in bars for you to fill up bottles you can buy from the bar for 1 Tunisian Dinar - that's the only water available - you can get a "free" bottle between 10:30pm and 11:30pm. The Beach has beautiful white sand and the sea is lovely and warm - one benefit of the place - if you fancy a walk you can go along the beach down to the marina - around a mile - nice little area - quite a few of your normal pushy guys trying to get you in their bars - food pretty much samey samey one decent restaurant - but price reflects this. Through the arch you can walk up to the funfair and a nice water fountain feature . Evening entertainment - again can be hit and miss - varies between a cabaret show ( magician has to be seen to be believed ) , folk dancing, circus type show , "Miss Tunisia" sadly missed the foam party as had to have a day in bed ill ( dodgy water from a bottle ) - this seemed to be the best night that all enjoyed. You will que a lot for drinks and food - breakfast wise we found the freshly cooked pancakes and eggs helped fill you up for the day because most of the other items on offer for lunch and dinner were not the best - no signs on anything - if it took your fancy, pick it to try and take your chances ...?! Also if you use your manners - the bar staff take the pi55 out of you - for saying please and thankyou and smiling - "fed up of hearing thankyou, all day, thankyou thankyou, thankyou .." was a comment made by a beach bartender. Snacks are limited, and not varied - "fresh pizza" is the best on offer down by the beach between 12:30 and 2:30pm. You do get an invite to a "gala" dinner on one of the nights - this is a nice concept - with having food bought to you rather than the madness of the buffet - however - there is no menu - its just the same food from the buffet - served to you - and lasts 2 1/2 hours . Certain staff do try and if you tip them you get a bit extra than those that don't but the 20% that try are sadly ruined by the 80% that cant be bothered. If you can change your hotel I would advise to do this - if you are too far down the line - take extra for eating out as you will need to do this on occasion.

Rooms are shocking first room given stink of damp farces and urine second one bearable but no air con no phone line and toilet stopped working told staff wrote it down never bothered, food absolutely shocking best slimming world ever , free for all every meal time and majority inedible , the bartenders during the day were lovely , no ice cream as advertised no a la carte restaurant that states you can reserve weekly and don’t get me started on the so called Gala Dinner, meant to be All Inclysive Vodka, Gin, Whiskey only cocktail Sex on the beach and lager that’s if they didn’t run out once at half nine at night couldn’t have anything but beer ,and the entertainment team were not interested unless you were you single girls the fact you have to pay tax to stay here is laughable , no one is interested would never come back

Absolutely disgusting hotel full of cockroches ants broken furniture broken tiles never clean the rooms literally have to beg for toilet paper staff are rude food is disgusting would not recommend oh yeah and the place reeks of piss

Location is amazing, many activities. Pool is deep but lovely temperature. Entertainment is absolutely amazing. Very talkative, lovely people. Ja Gli made me feel very welcome. Bar staff nicer in the day. Good drinks and good vibes. Food is decent, could be more options.

all of the team so lovely, made me feel so welcome and at home! the animation team are amazing and really put in effort into the entertainment, so pleased with my stay and will definitely be coming back. the only thing i would say is the food could include some more english options but we all ate very well each day!

This Hotel is the most disgusting place I've ever had the misfortune to stay in food diabolical wouldn't feed it to a dog Hotel rooms filthy moved four times before found one just about acceptable took 3 attempts it's not the staff at fault it's the owners they just don't care and supply lowest quality they can purchase in everything from food to furniture drink staff can't cope with amount of guests needing to run around like headless chickens pool not cleaned whole time I was there everyone that I could talk to and understand was absolutely shocked and disgusted with the place not given any information about mealtimes or anything else in Hotel this place should not be open to public it's a health risk bare wires wet floors not mop'd witnessed customers go flying while carrying glasses of drink from bar ran out of all inc drink umpteen times murder to get served anytime one person serving coffee and alcohol and soft drinks people allowed to jump queues if algierian or Tunisian seen three fights while there between Eastern Europeans and North Africans due to queues and certain religious people approaching very young girls touching and trying to kiss or fondling them reported no action taken I advise anybody thinking of going here to avoid at all costs if you've already paid do everything in your power to change Hotel or get reimbursement 🤮😡🤬

AVOID AVOID AVOID if like us you’re thinking it can’t be that bad think again ! Photos added will show you. Absolute filth wouldn’t take shoes off literally wipe your feet as you leave ! We left after 36 hours. The ‘canteen’ can not call it a buffet restaurant was carnage, food was disgisting. Queues to bar were ridiculous to get a tiny paper cup of beer or coffee ( beach bar the bartender laughed at us for asking for vodka). We complained twice then when we told them we checking out they wanted to move our rooms so we could be next to each other (we were put way away from one another) we told them to late We booked a Airbnb as we couldn’t stay there any longer Any good reviews must be done by staff as it is truly disgusting!!

I’m not usually one to complain and can let a lot of things slide, but El Mouradi was unbelievably grim from start to finish. The hotel itself is filthy. The carpets in our room were worn, stained, and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in years. From our balcony, the “view” was nothing more than a roof. We asked to change rooms twice, but were told there were no alternatives available. The bar was an absolute joke. Expect to queue forever, only to be handed a flimsy paper cup. Beer seemed to be the only option on offer, anything else simply didn’t exist. The food situation was even worse. The so-called food court was a free-for-all, more like a fight for scraps. If you like prison food, this may be the place for you. I gave up and stuck to chips, but since everyone else seemed to have the same idea, I was lucky to get five on my plate. That was dinner. Even in September, when kids have gone back to school, the place was heaving, overcrowded, and unbearable. There was nowhere to relax, just queues and chaos everywhere. The whole experience can only be compared to a trip to Pontins in the UK, but somehow, much worse. I honestly didn’t think that was possible. Do yourself a massive favour, avoid this hotel completely!!

A few hiccups but it's what you make it. Mostly me just not reading things properly. I love Tunisia and the people here. Hotel staff are awesome kind and hard working fantastic location. Great entertainment

To say we was disappointed would be an understatement. If you’re like us and thought the reviews were unhappy customers the odd one. Think again before booking. This place was truly disgusting. The rooms were vile and you wouldn’t want to take your shoes off. The all inclusive was the absolute bare minimum of beer (no spirits or water) and disgusting food. We left after a day and half after asking to move rooms twice. The hallways smelt like urine and the food you wouldn’t even feed to your dog. This hotel should be avoided at all costs. DO NOT BOOK HERE.
