"Perfect stay for my parents"

10.0

I have booked this hotel for my parents. They were very satiesfied and happy there. It's an old building from XVIII century, but all the rooms are brand new renovated and clean. Stuff was very friendly and helpfull to them too.

"Only aspect worth noting is it's location to the O"

4.0

Room tired and dark Bed uncomfortable and little pillows provided. Handle if wardrobe fell off. Toilet paper not adequate so had to ask for more. Breakfast sub standard One coffee machine that made others firm a queue each morning for about five minutes. This same machine was reported in 2014. Food very basic to awful. Water down juice, no cakes, plastic cheese, tinned sausages. Been to over fifty hotels in Europe and this was one of the worst. Bar said closed at 12, though, we were asked to leave at 11pm. No safe in room, reception safe was charged at €1.5 a day! Expedia rated this as 4 star, my view 2+ Not so much a tired hotel but one that was in hibernation. Would not recommend.

"Great hotel...great location "

10.0

This is the second time staying at this hotel. It is located right outside of Old Town Riga and next to the bridge to the city. You can walk to the Central Market and several other sights. Easy to get a taxi. Staff is willing to assist with anything you ask. Wonderful large breakfast daily.

"Good"

4.0

Most things in the hotel are very old. They don't even provide kettle in the room, only on request. However the location is very good. Old town is just across the road, 50 meters away.

"Riga, like Paris, is loaded with charm, too . . ."

6.0

Last year was a treat at this "old world" (including junky room furnjiture) hotel, so I came back on purpose. Sad to say, "attention to some detail" is missing: Only wall plug for my lap-top required moving a small refrigerator out of a sort-of-desk (but with no chair anywhere in the room; I had to sit on a end table). TV cable was out-of-order on arrival and for a day (asked twice). Morning buffet breakfast is plentiful and tasty, but go early because the cooked food isn't kept in working warmers together with piped-in vocal music of "White Christmas" on June 1. Very-clean bathroom was nearly the size of the bedroom/sitting area combo, but with no tub (that's o. k.) yet a very small shower stall. measuring no more than 1.5 meters square. Street parking is always very scarce and expensive (but with new ticket machines this year that work). It is quiet.

"Disappointment all the way through..."

2.0

Arrived at the hotel, the lobby was dark, however with nice old style furnitures. The receptionist did not provide warm hospitality when we arrived, it seemed like she couldn't be bothered less if we were there or not. Unfortunately, I had made a booking for the following month, although I had no intention to travel to Latvia then. Receptionist didn't offer to change the reservation to this date or even book a new room for the days I was there. When asked if refund then could be processed I got an answer that it will be done, but only after the original stay dates. Still haven't received a refund. There are much better hotels around in the area, with nicer facilities and much better staff.
