De Vere Beaumont Estate

Breakfast was high standard with lots of choice.

The noise in breakfast from loud groups of young men on the sunday at 07.30 in the morning. The menus was not of my liking but this is personal choice.

LAs instalaciones en general: decoración, jardines, salones de reuniones, restaurantes. Muy comodo y atractivo.

La temperatura estuvo alta en algunos salones de reuniones,y en las habitaciones no habia aire acondicionado.

The location was excellent and the complex itself is very comprehensive, the grounds and buildings / public rooms are lovely.

The staff were disinterested, the room was tiny and fitted with furniture from the 1960's, the flow of hot and cold water from the bathroom sink was near non-existent, the common areas have air-conditioning, which is lovely but the rooms do not, whilst dinner was actually pretty good and very good value, the breakfast was appalling, everything was cold, they ran out of coffee, the eggs were like rubber, and the bar service was a nightmare, one or two staff with 40 / 50 people waiting to be served and at no point on two evening were tables cleared / cleaned.

Lovely buildings and grounds. Beautiful location and apart from aeroplanes taking off it was peaceful. Great history recorded around the buildings and walls.

Worn and in place’s dirty carpet and decor in need of an upgrade. Inexperienced staff in bar and restaurant Staff answering their phones while dealing with guests, this is a massive no, no in my opinion.

The White House and Chapel are outstanding features of the visible part of the estate. The modern entrance to the hotel not so, which is narrow, congested and a bottle-neck. Room 2001, deluxe double with view, was at the end of the first floor corridor in an alcove on its own with a marble deity adjacent to the room. Room was well proportioned, high ceilings and comfortable sized en-suite. The view of the grassed area at the rear of the hotel was good with a magnificent cedar tree centre stage, King size bed was comfortable and the amenities in the room were adequate but not generous. There is no air-conditioning but the stand-alone fan unit provided a welcoming cool airflow for its moderate size. The hot and cold breakfast buffet was extensive and generous, hot food was hot and there was plenty of choice from fruit, cold buffet, pastries, cereals, yogurts, toast, hot breakfast etc. Despite there being no more than 8 - 12 people in the breakfast room, what was not so generous was the lack of clean, laid for breakfast tables in the breakfast bar. The only table available reserved for six was laid-up but there were at least twenty that required cleaning and re-laying with cutlery. My wife and I chose to sit in the breakfast servery to eat rather than wait for a table to be cleaned and re-laid. Plates for the hot buffet were cold and the automated coffee machine was empty of milk - there appeared to be more than enough staff available - at least eight. The reservation was made, in error, for 'accommodation' only. Breakfasts were purchased at a cost of £19.98 each but considering the location, near to Heathrow and London, and the extensive choice available this is considered good value for money. We attended the hotel for a professional event with evening dinner and entertainment and didn't use the amenities available due to time. I don't know why but we just never felt comfortable during our stay.

As a couple having stayed at De Vere Tortworth Court, twice, we had high expectations of De Vere Beaumont Estate, sadly not realised. On arrival at reception we stood back a respectable distance (2 metres) from two other couples being dealt with by the Reception Staff. When a Receptionist became available she chose to deal with another male customer who clearly thought his needs were more important. The two couples before us were both asked where they were parked and it was either confirmed that their car was parked in a car park nearest to their accommodation or advised to move another car park closer to their accommodation - that question didn't get raised with Us. When confirmation of the room was raised as 'room only' that was unexpected, the mistake on this occasion was mine, but the disdain that accompanied the question, reservation made through Booking.com, was so evident that we were clearly considered Paupers. Directions to our room involved passing through the green arch behind reception (actually a doorway, no archway involved) walking up an inclined corridor towards the 1705 Bar and climbing two sets of steps to the ground floor corridor. This route took us away from the lift which is actually just behind and to the left of reception area up a short flight of steps. Room 2001, a deluxe double, is not fitted with air-conditioning and it's probably difficult to install in a listed building but it was expected. The shower gel, shampoo, hair conditioner bottles which are well positioned when using the shower are almost impossible to use from a sitting position in the bath. The shower head falling out of the incorrectly assembled bracket causing a foot injury wasn't particularly welcomed just before our function on Saturday night.

Having sustained a last minute cancellation by King Edward apartments Windsor availability was limited. However, the Beaumont were able to provide a twin bedded room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, bonus for us : a lovely swim, dinner in the restaurant and a superb breakfast! Beautiful location for evening drinks outside.
