Staying at the Confederate House was like stepping back in time. The House is away from the crowded tourist area across from the large Fortyth Park, but just outside the door is the stop for the free shuttle service that will take you to all the sights. The House has been beautifully restored to its earlier day and our hostess, a true southern Savannah lady, regaled us with stories in her lilting, soft voice, including how southern ladies help each other in any tribulations they may have. Wonderful and very relaxing. Highly recommend a stay at the Confederate House.

Facility is run by a quaint little lady, in the southern style. Front door bell, in my experience, usually goes unanswered when checking in. Best practice is to call the facility phone # which rings to her cell. Once checked in, you are given keys and need to be responsible for locking door whenever leaving. The facility is quaint and timely, the interior downstairs is flawless, though in the rooms the bathroom facilities are showing their age. The bathroom is large and spacious, as is the shower... However the low water pressure, possibly from a water saving head, lends itself to a less than satisfactory showering experience. The TV facilities are practically non-existent. There is an approximate 50" TV on the wall, visible wires, but the channel choices are largely limited to religious programing, home shopping...A few books are provided, but bring your own. Other than the upper border wallpaper peeling a bit, the downstairs was immaculate. We did not partake in the provided breakfast, as it is served at 9:30, and we are early risers, but i'm sure it was delicious and appropriate. **note** if you are not going to eat breakfast, you are supposed to turn your plates over the night before, so she doesn't cook for you... Didn't find this out until the first morning. Exterior of facility is showing signs of age, the lack of functioning light bulbs and overtly visible wood rot on the columns does inspire a good first impression.

The location was the only thing good about the place. Nothing like the pictures. No hot water in the shower. Very disappointed.

"Ok, but not worth the price "

For the price, it was disappointing. We had to leave by 8am and breakfast didn’t start until 9.

Spacious B&B in a great location. Colleen is a very pleasant lady who loves to share her stories and runs a great B&B. Yummy breakfasts and super friendly atmosphere. Would totally come back.
