Extended Stay America Suites - Minneapolis - Maple Grove

We booked it for 5 nights but only stayed there 2 or 3 because it was such a poor experience. Maple Grove and Plymouth are generally safe areas but we did not feel safe there after a couple experiences we had with others. We didn't like that there was no remote for the TV, dishes and utensils in unit, crooked lamp shades, 2 of 3 lamps not working, 2 work station tables but only 1 chair, a shower tub that looked so bad neither of us wanted to use it, the floor mat towel was folded nicely over the tub edge when we arrived but totally soaked wet, the kitchen sink looked awful (apparently hard water stains), the chair for the work station had stains whereby my husband didn't want to sit on it and he said the mesh back of the chair felt sticky. Those were a few of the things we didn't like. We did like that it had working air conditioning. We were grateful that the reception desk could give us a tv remote and dishes and utensils. In general, I really would not recommend staying here.

I was very happy with the location, easy to find, many food options.

Our room was clearly not ready for us. I had to hook up the cable to the tv and plug in the tv. I had to go to front desk and ask for toilet paper. Floor made a squeaky sound when we walked on it. Hole in the wall by bathroom door.

Stains in sinks, tubs , toilet, carpet,

Facility very poor condition. Bed and bathroom stained and smelled bad. We could not spend time there. We did receive a refund and left.

The room that was assigned to us, had a"crack" int the tub. It wasn't a crack almost have of one side of the tub was missing the enamel in it. The bathroom smelled of formaldehyde. The bathroom counter was damaged as well. The hotel when we checked in the reeked of pot and the room had lingering pot. There were issues with the electrical outlets. One didn't have a plate on it and exposed wires, another one when you took out your plug, the plate came with it. Very much a fire hazard and not up to code.

First, the staff on hand did everything she could to help me, including check at least up to five different rooms for me to have something. I will admit that I did not know that you could not check in past midnight. I had issues to where I couldn’t make it to the property until 1245a. She did everything she could find me a room so I was very appreciative of that. She struggled to find any open rooms because the organization of who was staying on property was almost nonexistent and her iPad that she had to use to check me in was not functioning almost at all, so she physically had to go into rooms to see if people were occupying those rooms so that I could get a room. After she found me an After she found me, the bathroom door handle was broken off and sitting on the counter. The bathroom counter has stains all over it. The bathtub where I was supposed to take a shower was ridiculously dirty and moldy. There were numerous punctures or holes in the walls. One outlet near a bed. The other outlet wasn’t even installed correctly and was literally in the wall by wires only. The mattress that I slept on hasn’t been changed out in years and you could tell. I normally don’t expect much for a room at that rate however, I do expect a room to be somewhat clean and usable. Honestly, the room that I had was a complete joke and the pictures that I see on Expedia are either one or two rooms that they’ve updated or don’t actually exist. I have no idea to be honest.
