Holiday Inn Express Brooklyn, an IHG Hotel

This hotel was the worst value for money I have ever spent. Stayed for 13 nights. We were told in advance that housekeeping was on request. Several days when we requested housekeeping, it wasn't done. Front desk would only express bemusement when we advised them, saying we "were on the list". Some days when housekeeping was done, it was nothing but collecting garbage. I parked my car, at a cost of $40 a night, in the parking lot. Lot is not secured, and we were advised it was at our own risk. My bike was stolen off the back of my vehicle, despite being double locked on. I know this isn't the hotel's fault, but just an FYI re: how secure your vehicle is. The hotel was pretty fully booked, and was clearly not equipped for a full house. The tiny dining room was regularly full during breakfast hours, which meant standing around waiting for a seat. They also regularly ran out of most food by 8:30am, leaving only the often stale bread as the option. Even ran out of butter. It's a 9 floor hotel with only one elevator. During peak hours this meant 5 minute waits for the elevator regularly. Worst of all, we got stuck in the elevator on two consecutive nights. The "call for help" button in the elevator did nothing, meaning we could only ring the alarm and wait. We advised front desk after we got out and they could not have cared less. After the second time getting stuck, they told us the elevator needs to "reset" sometimes. 0/10. Stay somewhere else.

No parking available most of the time. Customer service is weak. Room rate is very high once it’s last minute booked.

For the $200+ / weekend night.. not worth it. Really bad night of sleep. Of course it's NYC and there's cars, that's not the noise complaint. You can hear everything outside of the room. Every time someone speaks in the hallway, opens/closes a door and it's happening frequently. It was impossible to sleep without being disrupted every couple of minutes with a door slamming. Also couldn't close the blinds so was heavily concerned about the privacy as my room was on the 2nd floor facing the street with people walking by.

Hotel was run down, not worth money charged, we were placed in a basement room with barely a slit for a window. Room was never made up with fresh towels after first night. I requested extra pillows (2) Received one after asking twice. Because of basement location it was very musty smelling.

Location was excellent as far as access to the subway. Only one elevator, that was shared with staff, and it was the slowest elevator i have ever been on.
