Residence Inn Columbus Downtown

Although the property was old, it was kept up and some parts undergoing renovation. Nevertheless, my room was large and excellent; and the downtown area around this hotel had plenty of shops and restaurants. The breakfast selections in the morning were also very good.

I booked a trip for my girlfriends birthday from March 14th-16th to Columbus, Ohio. We were looking forward to it very much, we had also bought tickets to the hockey game. We arrived Friday the 14th around 9:30 pm and the check in was flawless. We got up to our room (1303) and realized it was warm in the room was we adjusted the thermostat to make it cooler. After that we decided to go to the bar/restaurant down stairs (Buckeye Bourbon House) by the time we got back to our room it was even hotter than when we left. I immediately called down to the front desk and they informed me that the air condition was broken on floors 12, 13, and 14. I asked to be moved to another room but informed me they were all sold out. They also told me that the hotel was under construction and sorry for the incontinence. This is just unacceptable, the room was almost 80 °C at times and almost impossible to stay in but we had no other choice, not to mention we should have been informed of the construction going on before the trip. I believe there should be some compensation offered here and would like to know what will be done to help us out in this situation.

Room was not cleaned daily even upon request. Room was cleaned every 3 days. Bed was uncomfortable and shower had issues. asked for maintenance to fix it but housekeeeping staff was sent and unable to fix the problem. Shower was still useable.

This property was very nice for the price, walkable to the convention center, and the female front desk attendant couldn’t have been kinder and more accommodating. The male front desk attendants that I interacted with were less than friendly, and did not make me feel welcome. Additionally, the hotel breakfast was severely lacking – aside from the general lack of options, they ran out of more and more as the days went on. Despite the waffle maker being one of the few breakfast items available, they were out of syrup for 4 days straight. Not the end of the world, sure, but a bit frustrating each morning! Overall the stay was nice and convenient, but could have been better.

It was perfectly located downtown, and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. They were helpful whenever I needed assistance, including the valet for parking. Some items in the room showed their age and were a bit rough around the edges. Nonetheless clean and would recommend staying again in the future.

Loved our stay here, staff is fantastic the hotel is unique and the suites are great. Valet took a. Min to get used to but I was. Able to come and go as needed no issues at all. Next time I'm away to Ohio, this will be where I stay.

The staff was very nice!

We had a suite. When I called for ice I was told we had a fridge. The fridge’s ice maker was empty. When ice was brought up to the room there was a long black hair frozen in it. I did call and have them bring more ice up. There was a dark, curly pubic hair in the corner of the bathroom when we got there. Also, went down to breakfast around 8am. Was already out of orange juice, English muffins, blueberry muffins and the other flavor was not empty. Disappointed, it was only 1.5 hours into breakfast with 1.5 hours left.
