"Disappointing."

6.0

Located on the lakeside near the ferry jetty. The hotel was clean but slightly dated. The staff on reception were generally good although some had very poor English skills. Stayed on a Leger tour. - half board. The breakfast was very good but slightly chaotic. The dinner menu was very disappointing. Nice salads, very poor main and pudding courses. There is a separate restaurant- the most expensive item being a steak - at a whopping 180 euros. Room. Paid hundreds (extra) for a lakeside room with small balcony . The shower room was tiny. Had a broken door, cracked base and was tiny. Beds were good. We were on the 5th floor. There was one lift which could only carry 400kg. It was very small and was frequently used by cleaning staff with mops, buckets and racks of bedding. Fully understandable but very inconvenient for older guests. Security. A large group of ill behaved Italian schoolchildren were there on a couple of days. The managers were keen to identify them as from southern Italy. The school teachers were woken by security at around 0300 but refused to attend to control their charges following drunken and abusive behavior around the pool. Notable point, although not brought to guest's attention before arrival, you cannot use hotel towels around the pool. They will sell you 'a nice towel' for 10 euros though.... The bar staff were very good. Most of the restaurant waiting staff were similarly excellent. Would I go back. Probably not.

"Pleasant hotel, but a few let downs"

8.0

I was there last week, on a Leger holiday. Very pleasant hotel with great views. My room was at the back of the hotel, but still a great view of the green terraced gardens and swimming pool. Had a single room, comfortable but lacking in storage space. Had to put my suitcase across the door to block out the light coming in beneath it overnight. On a busy road, but was quiet overnight. Room walls were quite flimsy and could hear people talking and using toilets in the surrounding rooms. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Very good breakfast buffet and packed lunches, but the evening meals were a problem for me as everything contained creamy sauces and a lot of oil was used - I struggled with this as I have digestive problems...........I didn't go down to dinner on three evenings, as nothing suitable for me on the menu. No English programmes on the tv even though they were listed. Only one power outlet that my adaptors fitted and that was in the bathroom.

"Very good , no frills hotel"

8.0

The good outweighs the bad. Don't expect 5 star luxury, but for the price this is a very good option. We had a mixture of single, double, lake view and lake view suite. Excellent breakfast. Fresh barista coffees from professional machine - no stale jugs of coffee. Comfortable, clean rooms The bedroom cleaners are exceptional Excellent location The views from lake view is amazing ( i myself was happy with a room in the back). The balcony is small in double lake view room. The balcony for suite is much bigger, with plenty of room to move around and it comes with 2 sun loungers Some of our party (particularly normal double room) were unhappy with the size of their room , it was very tight to maneuver for 2 adults. However, the staff were swift in remedying this. You really are close to everything in tremezzo, from restaurants to activities and boats/buses. The small fridge all the room are very useful. Some of our party enjoyed the pool and bathing area. They charge 10€ for a towel and don't allow you to use the towels supplied for your bathroom. If planning on using pool, I'd recommend brining your own towel. The bar area is nice and well stocked. Air-conditioning apparently isn't allowed in Italy until may, so rooms were quite warm. The language appears to be an issue at times and it led to some mixups in several of pur bookings, which didn't cause any issues, but could have if hotel was busier. I would follow up and get confirmation of dates . No tea/coffee facilities in rooms. Non lake view rooms are smaller. If you want luxury in Italy, you need to pay for it. This is a no frills, but very good 3* hotel and I would gladly stay again

"Ok , would recommend best room and B and B"

8.0

We stayed here with a Riviera Travel tour for a week in a lake view terrace room, friends who had smaller rooms found them cramped. It was all very clean and we had a lovely lake view with 2 sunbeds a table and chairs on the terrace . I found the bed too hard and pillows uncomfortable. The plug sockets are in a most difficult position especially for ladies wanting to do their hair ! The breakfasts had a lot to choose from but the evening meals were unimaginative . All the staff were v pleasant .

"Holiday from hell"

2.0

We stayed here last week and would not recommend to anyone.Holiday rooms were tiny and not suitable for a couple. The food in the hotel was appalling and would be suited to a nursing home.Reception staff not very nice or helpful.Hotel dated and pool area very dirty and not used by anyone. I have added my lovely panoramic view of the fire escape.Booked holiday with travel department in Ireland and would not recommend using them for bookings in future.Lake Como is beautiful in the sun but 2 or 3 days is enough time to spend for anyone.

"Great stay on an amazing location."

8.0

We spent a week at this hotel, hotel is in the most amazing location right on the lake & by the ferry terminal, the rooms are very clean & bed extremely comfy, food was good, we used it as our base & ate & drank out numerous times, but the last 2 days the weather changed for the worse with thunder storms etc , so we had selected dining times which then after food, there was very limited space for people to sit & enjoy a drink due to not enough room, but they did have an adjoining room which was n26 which I think they could have opened rather than have people standing around & a lot of them being elderly.
