Hard Days Night Hotel

The entrance to the hotel is very grand and was beautifully decorated for Christmas during our stay. We enjoyed an espresso martini in the bar, which was delicious. The room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. My only gripe was that the window didn’t fully close so there was a draft and a lot of noise coming in from outside. We had a really busy schedule here so didn’t have time to raise this with the hotel and give them a chance to rectify it, so I can’t judge them on their response.

Upon arrival we told front desk it was our anniversary and they graciously upgraded our room. When we arrived at our room, we learned there was no heat so called down to the desk and were told maintenance had left for the day. They brought up space heaters and they’d have maintenance check it out the next day. Next day came, no maintenance in addition to the room not being refreshed with garbage emptied and fresh towels. In the bathroom, we expected to find glasses so that we could brush our teeth, get a glass of water, etc. again we were told they don’t provide glasses but only on request and we got two glasses from the bar. Breakfast buffet was to begin at 7 AM. That did not happen. It was closer to 7:15, and when you’re on vacation, your day is planned by the clock, so this actually did impact our time schedule. The gentleman in the restaurant was apologetic, but nothing changed. This hotel was in a good location, had tons of Beatle memorabilia and photographs. Lots of Beatles history. This location made getting to sites, tours, etc., easy and in a timely fashion. It was around the corner from the famous cavern club and lots of shops, restaurants, etc. It was also a short walk to the train station, which made it convenient to go to and from the station. It was in the heart of a main shopping district. If I were to return to this particular area I would select a different hotel. There were just way too many hiccups that really didn’t get resolved satisfactory.

I picked the Hard Days Night Hotel for its Beatles theme and central location, and it absolutely delivered on atmosphere. The building itself is full of character and Beatles artwork, and being steps from Mathew Street made it perfect for exploring Liverpool’s music history. My room was comfortable and clean, with some subtle Fab Four touches that made it feel special rather than gimmicky. Noise from the lively streets can be noticeable, so light sleepers might want to ask for a quieter room away from the front. Service was generally friendly and helpful, and breakfast and drinks on site were convenient. Black pudding is always welcome on the breakfast buffet! Overall, this is a great choice for Beatles fans or anyone wanting a fun, themed base in the heart of the city. The hotel isn’t flawless, but the unique vibe and location more than made up for any minor issues, and the stay felt memorable, standing out from other hotels we have tried in the Millennium Group. The hotel was nice, comfortable and reception were welcoming and informative. We used the bar which was nice but not the restaurant What really makes this place worth its weight in gold is its location - that close to the lively Matthew Street that we discovered for the first time on this trip. It’s where you find the legendary cavern club which is well worth a visit ( be warned you will lose all sense of time and roll out 5 hours later worse for wear but on the plus side you only have a short stumble back to your hotel.

First impressions were encouraging, nice reception area and a warm welcome, large tidy room but should have a fridge. Enjoyed a drink in the bar before going out ,hotels position could not be better Matthew street starts 10m from the door and 2 mins walk to a large shopping area. Had a great night out before the disappointment began, don't bother booking breakfast I've had better in layby kiosks and the dining room reminded me of school. If you don't hang a card on your rooms door handle asking for your room to be cleaned they assume you don't want it cleaned. nothing in the room informing you that's what you need to do just a sign in reception that they point to when ask why the room wasn't serviced Wouldn't stay again.

Ideal central location, food was good. Room, fine but lighting was poor. No lighting near a mirror, lots of sockets, in the wrong place 🤷‍♂️

If you’re staying in Liverpool it has to be here! We got upgraded for our joint birthdays to the John Lennon suite and honestly it made the trip for my Beatles obsessed boyfriend. We’re so grateful, the hotel is gorgeous, staff are friendly and helpful and the room was another level. Thank you guys!

A hotel for nostalgia and for a quality stay. A good spot for every part of Liverpool. You cannot go wrong. Bar is fantastic and the whole place is nostalgic.

Stayed for two nights to attend a family wedding on the Saturday. Booking was a nightmare as apparently if you are attending a wedding you have to book through the wedding planner in order to receive a "discount" which basically means you are not allowed to be sent any confirmation or really given access to any sensible information. You just have to ring up and give them a card number. Just doing this took me a week of trying to get hold of the right person only no one seemed to know who that was, and I was even put through to a hotel in Canada at one point who understandably couldn't find my booking. Staff constantly mixed the guests up and it was chaos. I also don't believe we had a discount at all as everyone I asked about it said they didn't know, and when I looked on booking websites they were charging less than we paid. I got there about 8pm intending to get room service as I hadn't eaten all day and had checked the website to see if it was available. Got there to find it was not but they said we could eat in the restaurant and carry our food up to our rooms if we wanted. Went to restaurant to be told no they stopped serving at 8.30 and we were nearly at this time. Seriously, in a four star hotel in the middle of a large city on a Saturday night. Apparently there was a supermarket nearby. Eventually, after some "debate" they allowed us to eat, but there was no chance of dessert or coffee and it felt like we had to get done as soon as possible. Food was nice. The it was up to the room. As I am disabled, I asked for an accessible room with wet room shower, which I did not get, but by the time I got in there I was too exhausted and fed up arguing to go back down to reception again so I just got on with it as best I could. Other than not being what I booked, the room was very large, with a lovely comfy bed and a large television. It is however very noisy at night, though it's in a nightlife area so you can't expect much else. The windows were very grimy and the room wasn't cleaned during my stay. I don't think this is really a four star hotel that should charge the prices it does as I've had much better experiences at Travelodges. The Beatles and Liverpool theme is nice.

An amazing stay at Liverpool’s finest hotel. Great staff, great environment and a super comfortable room and bed. Powerful shower woke me up this morning and I was ready for the day ahead.
