Everyone enjoyed the comfort of the surroundings and hotel rooms.

It was ok

For the price of the rooms. It wasnt worth it. Only one toom had ac , the rest of the unit had fans. The onsite restaurant was closed food had to be purchased outside. I had 2 rooms and had requested they be as close to each other as possible but ended up being on opposite ends of the property. The property also looks run down and looks like it might shut down at some point.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! EXPEDIA NEEDS TO REMOVE THIS ACCOMMODATION FROM THEIR SITE LIST- The receptionists had no idea, the cooked breakfast we paid extra for was terrible- it wasn’t a cooked breakfast at all it was a continental breakfast if that! ((instant coffee, stale cereal, 2 slices cold toast, half a banana, full cream milk- no alternative The room itself was disgusting- filthy shower, had to wear thongs in shower. The towels were stained, the linen old, the bed was old, the kitchen was not a “full kitchen” as described, the kitchen was dilapidated. There was no aircon in the family area only in the bedroom and who knows when or if that was last cleaned? Ceiling fan was ok but noisy. The toilet cistern ran 24/7. There was no restaurant on the property. No WI-FI available. The property was directly behind the airport runway so it was very noisy. There was no spare key so if we wanted our room “cleaned” we had to leave the key at reception. In room phone not working. It was on the whole old, filthy and dilapidated. In fact we left early because it was becoming quite depressing! As did others!!!!! DON’T STAY HERE 😡 Garden was actually quite nice and the pool was ok.

Very friendly and very willing staff. The only things at fault was the pool which was discoloured. Maybe needs to be checked for chlorine on a weekly basis using pool test strips to keep the pool clear. I stayed there for 5 nights and the water contained a small amount of green algae.

We arrived around 4pm and one of 2 rooms was not ready until 6.30pm. The available room smelled of urine and was damp due to just having been cleaned. There were no blankets on the beds and the aircons were on and remote controls didn’t work to be able to turn them off. There were no pots or anything to cook in the kitchen. I had to go and follow up the key for the second room despite having been told I would get a phone call once our room was available. The pool was green. The staff were pleasant and apologetic and were obviously just doing their best. Perhaps more staffing would have helped. The location was convenient and the restaurant next door was great.

Despite the property and facilities needing a good lift and new coat of paint. The location is convenient and the area quiet. Liked to be able to chill in the room while leaving the balcony door open, really liked the privacy of it.

Good location

Good location, a 10min walk to Smuggler's Cove & Wailoaloa beach. A few local restaurants and bars. 15min taxi ride to Port Denarau. The grounds of the property and pool area are lovely and well maintained. The complex buildings are run down and in need of maintenance work. We mostly had no hot water in our room and had cold showers all week. The staff were helpful and hospitable. We were mostly the only guests staying there. On a few occasions, there were people drinking heavily and partying - which in itself was fine but we had some drunken men banging on our door and shouting at 1.30am and overheard a very loud fight between a drunk couple at 6am on Sunday morning. As 2 female friends travelling together, these experiences were unsettling. There is security on site and I assume they shut this down fairly quickly but just an FYI - this is not the best option for solo female travellers. Better to stay around Smuggler's Cove area. I imagine GWV was a hive of activity before Covid. I hope that with some investment into repairing the property, it can be restored to its former glory.

Good location and amenities
