Grand West's Villas

We booked an accessible room, but when we arrived the staff were keen to have us check upstairs. Upon checking downstairs we realized why... The room was dirty (even marks indicating the toilet hadn't been cleaned since use!) and mouldy. We even found a sanitary pad in the side drawer. We ended up having to stay upstairs which made it difficult as I have mobility issues. Upstairs was much cleaner and if you are looking for somewhere close to the airport it would be fine. The onsite restaurant is basic but fine, there are also a few other places within 500m. If you're a light sleeper be aware that the runway is very close. WiFi costs $10 per hour so it's probably cheaper to just get a local SIM. TV reception isn't great and reception have to change channel for you. That said the staff are lovely and super helpful

Potential to be a great hotel. Staff looked nice but needed to be more sincere. For eg i requested for tv remote, was told by reception they would send one but they never did. Room was very clean but carpet was smelly.

Need renovation of hotel rooms as all facilities in villas are too old. There are no mosquito net on windows and doors. So, mosquitoes are easily get inside the room. No free wifi in room! Door key lock is damaged and air condition only in main bed room but 2nd bedroom only fan and no air condition on lounge, terrible when hot. No activity for kids in this hotel and only small very old TV for entertainment.

Worth my money.

Its not to clean. My body is itching because the have bed bugs.. i told the lady at front counter.. she only said they will send someone. They never did.. i move to another Hotel

The hotel room itself is very dated and could do with a massive upgrade, however the staff were pleasant and the breakfast was worth the money. We only stayed for a night so the room we got was ok for a short stay.

This hotel was a disappointment. Whilst not expensive, it was not cheap. It is completely lacking any charm whatsoever. On entering my room, it was apparent that it had not been cleaned properly, with hairs visible on the tile floors. The same was true of my daughter's room, so it was not just bad luck. On day one I was asked if I would like my room made up. After that, nobody cleaned the room again and nobody ever cleaned my daughter's room. The towels, by the way, were off-white as they were so old. There was a sofa in the room but I dare not sit on it, as the room was that grubby. Indeed, the entire room was run down and grubby. The air conditioning was noisy, and that was when it worked at all. The remote control for the air con did not work properly and the fact that the batteries were secured in place with tape tells its own story. We only made the mistake of eating there once. Over-priced food cooked in oil that needed replacing. Gross. This hotel has no charm, is dirty, is unattractive and has no significant redeeming feature. It is in desperate need of complete refurbishment and, even then, it would remain a dull and charmless hotel, albeit it one that would be fit to be a budget hotel.

I had read the reviews about the staff and location prior to booking, and was a little apprehensive...but the staff that checked us in were delightful. They even carried our bags to our room. The room was clean, super large, with excellent AC. There were a few mosquitos buzzing around, but we closed the windows and that was the end of that (it was the reason, however, that we did not try out the pool...the airport had made us afraid of dengue fever...and since we were planning on spending the majority of our days on day tours to the various islands--no mosquitos there as far as we could see--it wasn't a loss. There is a restaurant on the premises, and we ordered there once. They let us take our meal to our room, which was nice...and our room had a kitchen and three bathrooms as well. Per the neighborhood...though you can stand on the street and hail a taxi, it would be an interesting walk to try to get either to the town or beach (with kids, not something I would try). Not the best surroundings...but not dangerous. To agree with past reviews, you CAN HEAR the airplanes that fly overhead...BUT it is a small airport (there are only 1-2 per night). Doable. The walls are also thin (you can hear people come/go from their cars). Annoying, not horrible, but worth noting. In the final analysis: for the price, it was better than expected in the newly remodeled rooms. Not filled with drinking backpackers (like we saw at other places) so better for our needs/family.
