Parador Nature Resort and Spa

Really great easy option for families. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. We saw sloths right on the property. The breakfast buffet was delicious!

Overall an excellent, gorgeous resort with one glaring exception - the restaurant. Prices were exorbitant, by any standard. Breakfasts were very good, and we had a good dinner in the restaurant, but the bar food was consistently poor (day-old broccoli in a veggie quesadilla, for example). However, the room was extremely comfortable, and the grounds and views are beyond beautiful. Good swimming pool(s) and a wonderful nature trail. Some of the rooms lack an elevator.

Everything was great!

This is a large, high-end resort. The restaurants are very good. The grounds are nicely manicured. The trails are great to walk on (we did both the Monkey trail and the one to the beach). There is a lot of natural wildlife present on the grounds (monkeys right outside our room on day 1, and Tucans outside our room on day 2.) Staff is friendly and professional. They have a shuttle to their sister property at the beach, Miamar, which is a plus. The Fragata restaurant was good, as was the Don Juan bar for tapas and Galleria. Uber is easily available, and the town and restaurants are nearby (5-10 minute Uber).

Low walkability (can't walk to outside restaurants or to town). Breakfast is passable, not great, but you can get eggs cooked to order or an omelet. All restaurant food was preposterously expensive (over-priced).

A beautiful hotel located in a wonderful part of Costa Rica. We were lucky to have a room upgrade and overlooked the ocean with mango trees, monkeys and toucan all around us. The grounds were immaculate, the staff were good. The hotel provided everything we could have needed. We all loved the games room. Breakfast was outstanding. We would definitely recommend this place. Points to note, along with other reviews, prepare for expense. The hotel itself was extremely pricey. The area of Manuel Antonio also hugely inflated which is a shame as it put us off the usual touristy shops. The national park was very busy, probably wouldn't have bothered with that had we known. We did the hotel night tour which was our big disappointment, VERY expensive for a walk around the hotel grounds for an hour and 10 minutes in the dark. We could have done this ourselves with a torch! Had we known, would have taken a proper night tour elsewhere on our travels. Overall though a fantastic setting to relax.

Superb hotel with lovely grounds. In the two days we were there we saw sloths, monkeys, iguanas, armadillos, agoutis and toucans. The rooms are spacious and cool, the staff extremely helpful. The hotel runs a free shuttle to the national park with a handsome driver who was helpful and on time. The pool barman was very happy and attentive and the food was very good, if a little pricey. The only downside side was that while were were there was that there was a fishing convention on which closed the main bar and restaurant to the rest of the hotel for a few hours leaving only a few bar stools at another restaurant to sit and have a beer without feeling like you’re taking up a restaurant table. Not a huge deal just a tiny hiccup in an otherwise perfect stay. Would definitely visit again.
