"Awful!!!! Dirty and mouldy. DO NOT BOOK!"

2.0

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! The warning of "work in progress" is fair enough. But that does not excuse the smell, noise, dirt, mould and dust. I have checked in and then left within 30 minutes to go to a new hotel. Staff incredibly unhelpful, didn't even offer any help at the desk. Overbooked and bumping people out of rooms. Disgusting, disgusting, disgusting!!!!! Spend an extra 20 quid and go elsewhere! Bathroom ceiling covered in mould that has been painted over before, clear to see. The dust was thick on the bed head. Bedding stained and hairs in the bed!!!

"Smelly, dirty, noisy"

2.0

Avoid this place, it was smelly, dirty and noisy - slamming doors all night, paper thin walls, noisy air con, revving engines in car park

"Disgraceful, filthy hotel. Staff in denial. Avoid"

2.0

They are selling rooms as Travelodge standard before refurbishment has taken place. I told staff that I was disturbed at how dirty the room was, and I was told that they didn't know whether any of the other rooms were any better. In the morning, I looked at the mattress hidden under a mattress protector. It was vile, stained and filthy. I was furious about the conditions there. On checking out, I asked for the manager, and he blamed head office for making him sell rooms while the new mattresses were still on order. Subsequent customer service by Travelodge utterly appalling.

"Take it as you find it"

6.0

Travelodge were upfront on their website that they just bought this hotel, the bar and restaurant would be closed, and that it is awaiting refurbishment. However, I was looking at making a stop on a journey, they wanted £59 for a refurbished room at Leigh Delamare (which in my experience is a bit of new paint and some curtains) but £27 for this hotel. Parking was advertised as free and I just wanted somewhere to sleep. As an ex Campanile the public spaces look quite nice, very French looking. Shona checked me in, she was quite bubbly and welcoming. Sadly the lift was not working so I had to carry my suitcase up two flights of stairs. As other reviewers have said, everything needs replacing and the carpets were grotty. The room definitely screamed French with matching artex on the ceiling and walls. Rather spartan and industrial looking. I’m not sure there is much Travelodge can do with what is in the room now so my assumption is it will have to be a total gut. The bed was a Travelodge bed, obviously fairly new as the mattress was firm and the duvets/pillows plump. Good night’s sleep. Carpet looked very used, didn’t really want to walk barefoot on it, but I must say that everything in the room was clean. There is no air con and only a strange old electric panel heater. If the window was open then yes there would be a lot of road noise. But this is Travelodge - it’s budget, you get what you pay for (aka not a lot), want a better experience then pick a better brand. The bathroom was interesting, again very French looking. Only one of the mirror lights worked. Clearly they’re not paying much attention whilst the hotel awaits refurbishment; hopefully that refurb won’t be too long. In the meantime, provided it’s a cheap price then take it as it comes.

"Now a Travelodge"

8.0

Now a Travelodge not a Campanile. A good hotel obviously beinmg altered by Travelodge eventually. A good nights sleep comfortable and rooms very clean neat and tidy. Nice staff. Ask for a room not facing the main road as if the windows are open on a hot night there is no AirCon and it is noisy. Other than that everything really good

"Tired hotel, in need of an upgrade and a deep clean"

2.0

Tire hotel, in need of an upgrade and a deep clean. Not up to the usual Travelodge standards. Basically a former Campanile hotel with some Traveldoge signs stuck on the walls.

"Travelodge disaster"

2.0

Do not stay at this hotel. Travelodge have the audacity to state it is a new hotel when in fact it has not been touched since the camponile company ran the place. It is truly a disgusting mess. Customers have complained and that hit the swindon advertiser headlines last week. Do not stay here
