Campanile Swindon

It doesn't say chargable parking when booking but a reasnable price, the rooms are small but adequate,

Mould on the ceiling in the bathroom. Carpet is grubby. Would not recommend

Campenile Swindon DOES NOT have free parking! My partner and I booked into the Campenile Swindon hotel for one night March 2nd - 3rd and was advised by reception to pay for the 24hr parking using the machine to the right of the reception desk. The hotel does not have any of its own parking and where the parking is owned and administered by Total Parking. I paid the parking fee for the 24hr parking on the 2nd and for the overnight stay. I've just received a £100 parking Charge Notice for illicit parking even though I paid the fee. In addition if you appeal the PCN, the opportunity to pay the reduced amount of £60 is recinded. When I rang Camapnile to explain the situation, I was told that they had no responsibility for the parking and that it was up to Total Parking. So be warned, parking at Camanile Swindon is NOT free and if even you pay your parking fee, your room rate might cost you more than expected!!!

Low expectations which were barely met. Nice and easy to find but disappointed to find out the parking was not free. Room on the 2nd floor was only accessible via the stairs as the only elevator was out of action. The room itself continued the vibrant green motif with untidy decor throughout and bathroom with quite a musty odour to it. The shower dripped methodically with only gravity acting as the water pressure. The bed seemed ok but the mattress springs started to poke through during the night. I was situated at the end of the corridor so there was very little noise. Breakfast took its sweet time to get to me but it was cooked well although the mini chocolate muffins on display were a solid baseball substitute if required in the MLB.

Ticked all the boxes for me. It was just a base to sleep, didn't use any of the facilities so can't comment on those. It was clean enough and check in was done in a very friendly manner which was everything I was looking for.

Basic hotel for stopover or base for visiting area. Should be informing customers and booking agents that lift is out of order and has been for considerable time !

We did not stay at the hotel, We were put on the Third floor and the lift wasn't working, my partner has Arthritis and Knee and back issues, myself also have legs and back issues... We spoke with the receptionist and there were no rooms available on the lower floors so we decided to leave and booked into another hotel.... I will be expecting a full refund at the earliest...

Rats in the car park, when commented to reception they just said they knew. The room was tiny, no space. The carpet was filthy could not take shoes off. No breakfast, didn't offer food one evening.

The check in experience was very good, the staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel condition though is very poor, it feels like going back in time to 1960s but with lots of wear and dirt. Unfortunately the lift was out of order, the staircase is coated in the old popcorn ceiling style, but on the walls, no idea if it's asbestos. The carpet in the staircase is absolutely filthy. My room was on the third floor, the carpet on the third floor was disgusting. The room was even worse, starting with the bathroom, the sink drained extremely slowly. A layer of dried bodily fluids and bacteria covered every surface. The toilet seat had been ripped off and reattached with a screw. The ceiling was completely peeling away. There didn't seem to be any mould though. The towels smelt like they had been out drying in the rain for a couple of years, I hope they had been washed. The bedroom wasn't as bad as the bathroom, but it wasn't great, the walls and ceiling were both covered with the popcorn style, and in lots of places it was peeling away or there were straight up holes in the walls. The bed sheets didn't smell fresh and were quite unpleasant. The pillows were completely different, one side had one puffy pillow and the other side had one pancake. The bed offered no support and yet you could still feel the springs stabbing you. It's one of the worst nights sleep I've had in years. I highly recommend avoiding this hotel until they solve the cleanliness and condition of the place

Staff good. No elevator, TV did not work.
