"Right in the heart of a city within a wall"

6.0

Nice experience to live in and old part of Europe. Finding the location was a huge challenge, especially if you're driving. The hotel had reserved parking at the end of the street because traffic wasn't allowed on the street. The street is full of boutiques selling mostly items made from cork. I didn't realize you could make so many things with cork and how big of an industry this is for this area. The area is a huge maze of streets and hills joining into a central square with restaurants and boutiques.

"Great hotel in the heart of Evora"

8.0

Great little hotel right in the centre of Evora. Staff friendly and helpful, great little wine shop opposite, lovely restaurants close at hand. All in all a great place to stay. Catuxa wine tour is a must.

"A delightful sightseers hotel."

10.0

Hotel Riviera was great for our one-night stay in Evora. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The hotel was clean and well-maintained. Breakfast was the typical array of breads, cheese, meat, coffee and juice - very adequate. Our room was comfortable and nicely appointed. The bedding and towels were of good quality. And there were extra blankets and pillows in the cupboard. Hotel Riviera is right in the old city. It is perfectly located to see the sights and wander the streets. We easily saw all the fun stuff and even had time to shop a bit. We walked to Hotel Riviera from the train station. It is uphill on cobbled sidewalks so it was a bit difficult but still didn't take all that long - maybe 20-25 minutes. The hotel was very easy to find even though it didn't look so straight forward on Google Maps. I definitely recommend Hotel Riviera for Evora sightseers.

"Two nights in Evora"

10.0

Arrived to Evora by car for a two night stay. Very easy to navigate to Evora from Lisbon. Driving to within walking distance of hotel was another thing. However after some time found a parking spot and left car there for duration of my stay. Used my I phone to locate the hotel -ten minute walk. The gentleman at the counter who goes by the name of Gallego was very friendly & helpful especially about when to feed the meters. my room on the 2 nd floor was quite nice and very clean with a view onto a bustling street. Only local traffic is allowed in this section of the city so not much traffic noise at nite. The hotel is very well situated, the breakfast spread was generous , served in a cozy room. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel! Would come here again and Gallego was the best!

"Quaint hotel right in the middle of town. "

10.0

We had a great experience with the hotel. Staff was helpful and friendly. Location was great- walking distance to all major sites. We had a rental car and parking was easy (less than 5 minute walk to the hotel as hotel is on a pedestrian only street). Was easy to find location using GPS and knowing from other reviewers that you need to walk in. Breakfast was a great addition!

"Central location, More noisy than my preference!"

6.0

Great location in the centre of Evora. Unfortunately, university was just starting so that meant all the students were partying all night making for a less than quiet night!

Great location! I was sorry to miss the free breakfast (slept late right after the flight in) but the hotel was great and the town of Evora was amazing. Loved everything.

"Great hotel in central Evora"

8.0

This is a great small hotel in the heart of Evora, within a very short walk of the central square, all of the major sightseeing destinations, and dozens of great restaurants. We stayed four nights in late May 2015. Prices were extremely reasonable. It is in an older building typical of the historic town -- it's not a cookie-cutter chain hotel, thankfully. The staff was extremely friendly and eager to please; it's clear that the staff takes pride in what they do. The room, including the bathroom, was large and super clean. The continental breakfast was typical fare -- quite adequate, with coffee, espresso, juice, yogurt, cold cereal, meats, cheeses, and pastries. We had some laundry done, and it was returned the next day, as indicated, with great care (and done at a very low price). Wifi was strong and super reliable -- far better than most American hotels. We enjoyed opening the two windows in our room in the morning, to listen to the sounds of the town. The biggest downside was noise from partiers on the street every night; we were awakened at least twice each night, which wasn't a huge problem, except for the last night, when the partiers carried on throughout the night, resulting in a less than restful night for us. Nevertheless, I'd recommend this hotel without hesitation, although next time I might try for a room that doesn't face the street.
