We have visited the las dalias on many occasions over the years, and mostly they have been good visits to this hotel, this time, whilst somethings are still very good, like the check in staff, 5/5, Marina get a special mention for great work, the room maids 5/5 all excellent, rooms very clean, unfortunately it’s the managment who seem to have lost there way, it seems for this visit, the ethos has changed from reasonable 4* quality and good service to “cram them in” and therefore everything from bar service to meal times, and cleanliness of outside areas has suffered in my opinion. The outdoor food area, is left too long before staff clean it, this has lead to a pigeon invasion, I do accept it’s partially down to lazy guests but that should not allow staff not to keep areas clean, pigeons walking on all the food prep areas, over the tables and chairs, on one day there were so many pigeons I called the staff down to clear the area as it was easy food everywhere, to be fare they came straight away and cleaned the area so very reactive to my request, but it should not have to take a guest at las Dalias to get your staff cleaning. The pool area in my humble opinion is a complete nightmare, the super busy hotel has catered well for the guests as regards to loungers, but there is no space between the loungers. Guests were putting towels down against hotel Policy, and the hotel were not enforcing there own rules as regards to towels, guests were putting down towels in the early hours and not turning up until after a late breakfast, we stuck to the rules and found when we went for lunch in the hotel, we came back to find our loungers had been moved and larger groups had taken over an area, over all I still had a good stay at the las Dalias but it was so crowded! Rather surprisingly with school age kids from the UK!!! so as a couple who have been here many times over the last 15 years, I feel the las dalias has changed to a full on groups and family hotel, not for the couple, which it used to cater so well for. This maybe because they have a different owner since our last visit, IHG, inter continental hotels group. To top it off the bar staff at the outdoor area are hit and miss, some are good but others appear to be in the wrong job, rude and sometimes sloppy and uninterested, as I checked out my wife and I sat down and ordered a last mojito, the mint was black, she forgot to put rum in it and basically appeared not to give a dam.
It makes me sad to write this as the las Dalias is/was a great hotel, but this is a honest review and just my opinion.
