Holiday Inn Accra Airport, an IHG Hotel

Very great

Proximity to the airport was great and the food was excellent. Ghanian dishes were available and delicious. Sarah at the from desk was extremely help ful along with Gifty the manager.

The lobby and pool area are absolutely beautiful. There are many beautiful sculptures. It was extremely disappointed with the staff. When I went to the bar to order a drink I was completely ignored by the bartender. When I was sitting in a smoking area which I've been told was a smoking area for two days another employee came up and told me it was not a smoking area. The absolute worst time however was you have to use your key card to get to the floor of your room. I have two ribs tendons and shoulder reconstruction surgery which was part of the reason why we wanted to stay at the Holiday Inn before proceeding home to a craw. The key card does not work in the elevator and as the results at one point I had to walk down seven flights of stairs. This was extremely painful and I was in tears when I reach the bottom. I waited a few moments collected myself and then went up to the front desk and ask to speak privately with a manager as I did not want others to be privy to the conversation for the sake of the Holiday Inn. I was told repeatedly that he was sorry for the incident however no recourse or compensation was ever offered. It was clear that this was not a large concern for them however it is for me and my surgeon and it was unfortunate and I am in pain now still three days later while on vacation. I'm very disappointed that nothing was done and that the apologies given were so Hollow.

It's not bad. But there are room for improvement. They enforce wearing masks in dining room, but just to go and touch all cutlery with no gloves. So what's the purpose of this. In rooms they can at least have floor mats Infront of bed. Also no slippers is available.

The food was very good, the room were clean and comfortable, the hotel is conveniently located close to the shopping mall and airport. During my stay, there were problems receiving cable TV programs. A nice amenity to add would be a microwave in the room.

I took my family to Holiday Inn Accra for a family celebratory dinner this evening. Once the car pulled at the gate/car entry point, we were not Security checked like I would have expected and were allowed to drive straight into the premises. I am very security conscious and found this a bit alarming. On getting to the entrance into the main lobby, there was no one there to open the door for us and we had to open it ourselves. There were no security checks or covid protocols at the main lobby entrance. We made our way to the restaurant and had a tasty dinner. I particularly liked the fish in oyster sauce among others. I know hotels are hard hit due to Covid but some basic security measures should be in place to give customers and their families peace of mind while within the premises.

After staying nearly all good hotels in Accra, I have decided to stay in this hotel last 2 years. At reception Mrs Sarah and Gifty always supported me, plus at breakfast, Miss Abigail, despite her injured foot, she happily served everybody with always s cheerful face which i appreciated a lot. God bless them.. Breakfast and menu is sufficiant. I suggest tilapia fish in the restaurant. They do well. Massage also good. Very near to airport, have free shuttle. I also thank to Mr Bassem who is the General Manager of the hotel, he always find solution for any case. I suggest here to everyone with my all heart. The best choice in Accra quality and price wise…

I had only good experiences there.

Located 5 minutes drive from Accra International Airport. Make sure the hotel driver picks you up on time as we were left waiting half an hour. Average Holiday Inn hotel standard but it does have a pool which is positive. Some floors under renovation but you wouldn't notice.
