Powe House

Loved my 4 night stay at Powe House. Ideal location to get the Honister Rambler to various locations to bag some Wainwright's. Only moved car once and that's only because I wanted to get an earlier start than the bus arrival. Andrew was a fabulous host and breakfast was yummy. My room (single) was extremely comfortable. I didn't want to leave!

It was an enchanting house on an enchanting quiet leafy spot a short but lovely walk from bustling Keswick meaning, given the private parking, the car could be safely left for the day. Comfort and peace was assured, high quality toiletries provided and, come morning, one of the best breakfasts I've come across with quietly attentive staff delivering as many fill ups as required and wonderful choice on the menu. Highly recommended.

The building is wonderful, with great views and if you are lucky the local deer family will say hello in the garden in the morning. The rooms are spacious and well laid out with all the facilities you need.

Lovely big room, very clean, comfortable bed and fabulous shower. Breakfast was great.

Location was great, quiet but close to amenities

The decor was very inviting and relaxing. Lovely to have the use of such a beautiful sitting room and a breakfast menu offering so many choices and cooked to perfection. Andrew is a wonderful host. The most comfortable single room I have stayed in in The Lake District. Parking off street is a winner too! Great walks from Powe House and having the use of a bar fridge on the landing was wonderful.

There was nothing to not like.

The breakfast options were delicious. Eggs cooked to perfection ! Beautiful old house with a lot of character. Our host Andrew gave us advice on places to visit and how to walk there. He even lent us a map.

The only thing was the fruit on the breakfast bar: it was not fresh but thawed frozen fruit (strawberries and raspberries). But it was still nice.

The owners were really helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicious. The venue was really convenient for walking into Keswick. It was very clean and a lovely place to stay.

Nothing it was all great!
