"Lovely hotel stunning place - Too many dogs"

8.0

Lovely place to stay , the view over the harbour was lovely if currently spoilt by the ongoing harbour works , although this is t down to hotel. The staff are what make this place as well as the decor and thought gone into the hotel and rooms . They were so helpful , breakfast was a delight with attentive staff . The food was amazing, if the menu could have greater choice that would be a bonus ! Now for the down sides(sorry) far too many dogs they are everywhere even in the room below us , they are on the nice furniture downstairs in the lounge area I wouldn’t sit on any of the lounging chairs by the fire because of what we saw, they were in every area that you dine in and outside. Smoking and vapes whilst “not allowed” in the outside dining area people were vaping anyway , the smoking area is the best area to look out onto the sea . It’s such a lovely area but I would not sit there because smoking is allowed . I realise that there are still people that smoke but I think for the prices that are charged for eating smoking should be banned completely, anywhere there people are eating or just want to admire the view it isn’t just the smell it’s also inhaling other people’s smoke or chemicals form vapes .

"Great staff but needed more"

8.0

We stayed one night. The hotel and room were really good and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was that our room wasn’t ready in time because there had been several check outs and there weren’t enough staff to clean them.

"A stay we were made so welcome by Cornish hospitality!"

8.0

The hotel is in a lovely spot right on the cove in Charlestown Harbour with great seating inside and out overlooking a [normally] great vista. Not the hotel's fault, but the normal Charlestown was having major works to the lock area that houses the tall ships. So no tall ships and no walk around the far harbour entrance. Hopefully all work done soon. Our room was very clean and the bedding was crisp and luxurious. Air flow was a bit of an issue - the small sash window could not be opened more than a few inches. BUt the team provided a funky Dyson A/C [?] unit to try to help. It didnt really make much difference, and was very noisy. But it showed the team was trying to help wherever possible. The food was lovely, although some menu items were not available [sold out] on one evening. Staff were all top notch. Friendly and helpful at all times. Parking is free up the road at their sister location. But it's a lottery. We had to park in the pay car park one day as there were no slots. But overall a lovely stay in a super location, with good food and [I am biased] St. Austell great beers. Proper Job!

"Lovely but breakfast................"

8.0

Lovely hotel, lovely room, nice dinner. Not a ten out of ten because of service at breakfast on second morning. Order not taken for nearly 30 minutes and had to ask for coffee twice. Left without eating breakfast in order to get to meeting.

"A lovely stay!"

8.0

We booked this hotel for 1 night,as we were attending a gig at the Eden Project.First time in Charlestown, and we really enjoyed it.There is no on site parking at this hotel, however this was'nt an issue. You can park for free at the Rashleigh Arms hotel just up the road,a short walk away.We loved the outdoor seating area's,the weather was beautiful,so we made the most of it.Just a note that you cannot sit outside after 10.30pm,and you are encouraged to go inside after this time.Staff are attentive and friendly. Our room was a double. The plus sides...big enough bathroom, with a large shower head, lovely toiletries, and fluffy towels.Nespresso machine in room, with pods, and a small bottle of milk in fridge.Cold drinks in fridge at an added cost as are most of the snacks in the room. There is also a kettle, and a bottle of cold water.Decent radio in room, and a nice size tv.Dyson fan which was needed,as the room was very warm. Our room had no view, just of roofing and a fence. This was'nt an issue for us as we spent very little time in our room apart from sleeping. My only negative is the bed.The room we had is very small. The bed is positioned against 3 walls (no room at all to walk around it)and sort of semi enclosed with a floor to ceiling wall unit which also housed the fridge,so only a partial one side of the bed to get into/out of.Not good having to climb over your partner during the night to use the loo.We would stay at this hotel again, just would ask for a different room.Breakfast was very delicious.A range of items buffet style...fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals etc, juices.Nice to have a full size cafetiere with our b/fast.Staff very friendly and welcoming.Would we stay again?Yes! Tip:We used Spot On taxi's for a return trip to Eden Project. We booked a few days before we arrived, and service was great.

"A memorable, comfortable, restful stay, friendly and helpful staff, highly recommend."

10.0

We ended up staying at the Pier House after another hotel we had booked turned out to be quite noisy and unsuitable for us. The receptionist at the Pier House was very welcoming and helpful, took our enquiry seriously and very kindly showed us the rooms they still had available. It was an amazing space with quirky architecture and comfortable beds. We had a really quiet room and all the amenities you could wish for. In the morning, we had an amazing swim at the Carlyon Beach and a delicious breakfast. The breakfast staff couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly. Looking forward to future stays with Pier House. Thank you.

"Greta location and service in Charlestown"

10.0

Greta location with awesome views. Restaurant/bar was very good. Rowena was excellent in taking care of my large group. Large variety of rooms so ask what you are getting when booking if views or other features are important. But can't beat this spot for Charlestown.
