Pier House

I stayed in a cabin room and loved it. It was the perfect size for one person--cozy in the best way possible and I loved the green colors. The room managed to get a breeze from the open window without much noise, plus there was a high quality fan. The staff are welcoming and kind. There is a mini bar in the room with one free beer! I slept very well in this room. The hotel's restaurant is amazing too and there is also a terrace connected to the bar with great views. I would have enjoyed staying here more than one night.

My wife and I spent four nights here and had a lovely time. A great location although the view over the harbour is unfortunately rather spoilt at the moment by construction machinery (July 2025). Otherwise everything was spot on. The bedroom was nicely decorated and clean, comfy bed, quality linen, with one of the best bathrooms we've experienced for a long time. Good restaurant and fabulous breakfasts. However the stand-out point has to be the great friendly service from everyone from receptionist to waitress to cleaner. Well done to all!

We had a fantastic stay at pier house hotel. Everything was perfect, from the start. Izzy was so helpful, she went that extra mile to upgrade our stay, she is a credit to pier house hotel. We had a beautiful room with a view. The breakfast was outstanding, and Jo was fantastic, friendly, helpful and she had a great sense of humour. Emma the manager was friendly and very professional. All the staff were lovely, from bar staff to restaurant staff and the maids were the classiest we've ever had. The hotel is beautiful, and we look forward to visiting again in the future. A perfect stay.

I simply couldn't fault the Pier House (although if they could build an underground car park......). We arrived early, so that we could have lunch at the hotel. It was a good menu, but we both went for the fish and chips and, frankly, it couldn't be beaten anywhere. We were served by Koben, who was helpful and attentive (and asked to be remembered to TripAdvisor) and did a passable impression of Kris Marshall (Beyond Paradise etc) of whom he claimed not to have heard, but clearly deserving of a winning bottle of Fleurie in the Staff Handicap Stakes. A close rival in this race would be "Dangerous" Dave who, despite being the Night Porter, was manning reception at 3.00pm, and succeeded in arranging taxis to and from the Eden Sessions, no small feat at little notice, and on duty until 7.30 the following morning. The room and breakfast were great, as were all the staff, and the only downside being the work on the lock gate leading into the pretty little harbour, can hardly be blamed on the hotel.

Returned this year as enjoyed the food so much last year and was not disappointed. Absolute perfect all round experience. Staff excellent. The hotel manager was so friendly with customers and her staff. Very reasonable price too. Could not rate highly enough.

Lovely Hotel. Staff are excellent. Room was fantastic. Breakfast was excellent. Room facilities were very good. Room views fantastic. We would recommend this place to our friends Had a great break. We were meant to stay at another hotel but that did not work out and thankfully we stayed here.
