Marriott's Kaua'i Beach Club

This was a stunning property. Centralized and close to airport. The rooms were beautiful. Staff was amazing and quick to assist in any situation. The beach access is like no other. Multiple dining options and shopping on property as well as walking distance.

Traveled here in April. Cancelled my booking at Royal Sonesta because I got a good rate for ocean. However, ocean view here is really a straight view of the roof. Rooms are horrible so far. It’s sad. When I called the front, they said sorry, we know it’s a trick but it’s an old hotel and since the hotel faces the beach in that direction it’s technically a beach view.

Full disclosure - we are owners at this timeshare and this resort and island are the reason we continue to return. Some creature comforts (like a washer dryer in room) are not available but there are affordable coin operated ones. They are quick and pretty convenient. We rarely cook for meals so not having a stove is not a problem.

Beautiful resort, friendly and helpful staff, variety of dining options and great food but pricey. Amazing pool and beach access. Grounds were landscaped beautifully, room was clean and quiet withe the best view overlooking the pool and the beach. Elevator was fast, laundry facility was convenient. Expedia got us a good deal for room and flight. We can't wait to return!

Was in a room with a Murphy bed- not as comfy as the Marriott beds I am use to. All employees are over the top friendly and helpful. Bell hop and valets especially. The hotel has a beautiful pool and exceptional flowers and plants. The pool is huge and there are plenty of servers checking in to see if you need a cocktail or food. Great location 10 minutes from the airport and it is centrally located for day trips. Plenty of restaurants close by along with several hotel restaurants. I wished they had more gluten free options.

This was an uncharacteristic miss for Marriott. We stayed one night at this property before meeting up with the rest of our group in another part of the island. We arrived late and night and had a long walk to the reception area. All of the food options were long since closed (which was not a big deal) but the guy checking us in said, as a one-time courtesy he'd "let" us take a bottle of water for free (for an $800 a night hotel room!) After another long haul, my son and I opened up the door to our room and were suprrised to see NO BED. It was a very shabby room that didn't look particularly clean (hair in the sink, etc.) We had booked a queen ocean-view room so were surprised to see the bed was a murphy bed we had to pull down and assemble ourselves. I almost cried when we crawled into the bed and saw visible bed bugs in the seams at the edge of the duvet and mattress. (We left our suitcases zipped across the room and later washed everything so as not to take the bugs home with us.) I was gobsmacked by the price of the room for the condition of the property and the room. We spent almost 20 minutes in line just to grab a coffee the next morning. The most shocking part was that when I very tactfully and quietly mentioned bedbugs at checkout, the woman helping us just shrugged and said she'd "let housekeeping know." She was completely nonplussed. There was no apology or any effort to make it right. Even my 10-year old said, "That was the worst hotel we've ever stayed in."
