Hôtel Moderne

I run a motorcycle training and tour company in the UK. I have used the Hotel Moderne kseveral years ago) for a group of Motorcyclists. We have now returned. With a group of 10 persons. From our very first email contact to our fuss free check out thd owners/management have been fantastic. So helpful in helping us make our arrangements. They handled changes that we made to our guest list without any fuss. The rooms have been modernised since our last visit. Decorated in car neutral colours. No carpets, but cool grey wood effect flooring. The rooms were spotlessly clean, so a big thank you to the housekeeping staff for that. There was no kettle in the room but there is a free coffee/tea trolley in the hotel lobby. The hotel overall is light and airy but the staircases are still a bit dark as there is very little natural light. There is a lift to the guest floors. The location of the hotel is ideal for us to explore the Somme region around Arras and the old city of Arras is well worth a visit. Breakfast is served in a light and roomy dining area and consists of traditional 'continental breakfast' items. You serve yourself so you can eat as much as you like. The staff were very friendly and when we checked in try had our rooming list and all the keys ready so there was no delay. Check out was simple too. We are planning future trips and will definitely book the Hotel Modene again when visiting this area. The photographs show the main entrance, the room interior and view from the window overlooking the Station Square and the Spotlessly clean en suite shower room. All good.

As with so many hotels, Hotel Moderne is in need of some TLF--starting with some of the signage missing from the front of the building! But do not be put off, the hotel is clean, rooms are very tidy and most of all, this hotel is very convenient for all that Arras has to offer.

Ok for 1 night, it has no restaurant but there are plenty locally. Buffet breakfast is provided but it’s pretty basic. No air con in the rooms either. Room was style free and smallish, bathroom ok, fine for 1 night wouldn’t want to stay longer.

Needed to break our journey from Provence to Northern Ireland - have previously stayed in Troyes but decided to try Arras this time - great decision. Hotel was easy to find with free parking directly opposite. Easy, friendly check-in. Our room was on the second floor at the front of the hotel with a mini balcony which our dog loved! Scrupulously clean room - lovely bathroom with great shower and good selection of toiletries. Very comfy bed. We walked to the Citadel and the WW1 cemetery and explored the town. The main square with bars and restaurants is an easy stroll from the hotel. Didn't have breakfast as we had an early start. Definitely recommend as a base to explore the area or as a pit stop an route to the Eurotunnel.

Hotel is conveniently located across the square from the train station. The staff (usually one only) was helpful but had to work reception as well as the bar. The rooms are large by French standards. Bed was comfortable and room and bathroom clean. However there was no air conditioning and no room safe. The hall lighting is only just adequate. The locks on the room are also in need of updating. the buffet breakfast was good but limited in selections. Good for an overnight or two but probably not much longer.

Great hotel. Easy checking in. Very helpful on the front desk. Lovely big room with view of the square. Comfy bed. 5 min walk to the town square. All great . Hope to be back.

When we arrived the staff helped us check in, booked a taxi for the next day, and gave us directions to the square so we could find a nice place to eat. Staff could not have been more helpful or friendly!

Hotel is a bit tired in overall decor although rooms are nice. Bar and restaurant not open. Staff vey helpfil. Great location for shops and station.

Centrally located hotel - Arras was lovely but a bit quiet - maybe that was because it was midweek. Hotel absolutely fine - rooms were basic but that reflects the price. Nice bathrooms though which is always important!! Hotel staff were English speaking and lovely. Good breakfast buffet. No complaints at all!!
