Hotel Alpenroyal

The property is not located in the most convenient location. During our stay there was tons of construction around the roads and town. The lift to the hotel was closed from the street access, making it extremely difficult to get to the hotel fir check in with luggage. The taxis are very expensive and twice eere unable to bring us to the hotel entrance. The hotel is very dated in the rooms. The furniture and interior of the rooms is extremely used and cleanliness is below average. It has a great view from balcony, but I think you can find the same view at a better hotel.

Amazing staff and location. A little bit dated, but that kind of added to the charm. Very clean. Would definitely recommend paying slightly more for a view of the Matterhorn. It is a bit of a trek up the hill and we were out of breath every time we returned to the hotel. Probably good to walk off the fondue though. Taxis are readily available.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Zermatt! It was very convenient, and the short walk to the village was a breeze. The staff was amiable, welcoming, and supportive. We also had a fantastic view of the Matterhorn from our room balcony! The breakfast included was also very good, and undoubtedly Swiss! Highly recommended!

This hotel is the best value for a stay in Zermatt! The staff is so kind and responsive and the bedroom while small ws spotless. The included breakfast is varied and excellent and there is a small bar that stays open late so you can relax after a day of skiing. The walk to the Village as well as the Tram is so easy and convenient. I would definitely stay again.

This is a well located hotel that offers good access to the Sunnega lift and the village by foot. The staff Mikail and Monica were so kind during our stay as my daughter was unable to ski and kept an eye on her. Comfortable beds. The family room was perfect with a 2nd toilet, dining table and lounge room. Good breakfast is offered but would have been good to have some fried eggs as only boiled and scrambled are available. The pool and steam and sauna rooms are kept very clean. We loved waking to the view of the Matterhorn each day and would recommend this hotel.

I liked that it had an old world charm, with charming decor, excellent service & easy access to the village. The icing on the cake was the excellent view of the Matterhorn from our room.

We loved the traditional decor, ambiance as well as the design of the Hotel. Spa was great, Staff very friendly and attentive. Will return in Feb 2025. Also will recommend to my friends
