Hotel Falken

Conveniently located to the train station (walking distance) as well as shopping and restaurants. No front desk help at night but I never needed them so I wasn't affected. The beds were comfortable but the bathrooms were quite small. Perfect for a getaway or even backpackers.

The hotel is not staffed 24-hours a day. The front desk speaks reasonable English, but should be better; nor do they speak French. The real problem is the attitude of the Russian/Ukrainian staff, which reminded me of the Soviet Union. Their toilet paper is of similar quality. The location is great, the room was reasonably clean (though the carpet was in poor condition), too small for a large suitcase and overly perfumed. I would definitely stay elsewhere on a return to Luzern.

We had a great stay in this hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms (3rd floor) are what you expect in Europe but clean none the less. The location is perfect for all you want to see in Lucerne. There is a good little coffee shop at the end of the street too, excellent bircher muesli. I would stay here again, especially at such great prices!

This hotel is a 5 minute walk from the main train station and in the heart of the old section of Luzern. It is convenient to stores, restaurants and ATM.

Small room, with interesting curved ceiling. Very helpful multi-lingual staff. Walking distance to major sites, shopping and restaurants.

This room was quite disappointing. Very small. All hotel rooms should have a bar fridge at least. Ceiling was sloping which made it difficult. Weirdest shower head ever! Like being in a disco. Close to town and train was the big plus.

Staff is helpful and friendly, but the rooms are overpriced for the size and quality.

A bit old and tiny room. My TV was not working. The safe box was not prepared for usage, but it's still to be kept in the room. But the location was at the center of Luzern surrounding tourists sites, very convenient to get back to the hotel for washroom.

The hotel has a great location, just near the bridge near old town. A quick walk to the train station and public transportation is all close at hand. But, the rooms are VERY small and kind of drab. Staying on the top floor didn't shield us from street noise on a pedestrian street. The shower is super small, lacks any fan, and there was some mold on the wall in our bedroom. If we had been there longer we would have probably asked to be moved to a different room. As we didn't have breakfast in our rate, we didn't get to sample that. I'm not sure we wanted to. The front desk has some of the oddest hours I've ever seen at a hotel, even small ones. The open at 2pm on Sunday, so if you are checking out you need to do so on Saturday. And their morning and late evening hours are very short. When the front desk isn't staffed, I'm not sure who is answering the phone for requests or emergencies. If you want a great location in Lucerne, and can deal with small and crummy rooms, this is your place.

We were in a room on the 3-th floor - really small room, but cosy and clean! We new in advance that the size of the room was not the greatest advantage of staying in this hotel and we were not surprised. Everything else was fine, the staff was very nice and helpful. Just a minute or two from the hotel there is a very very nice bakery, with fantastic coffee, croissants, cakes, loots of things - delicious! And of course it is not necessary to "book a breakfast" in the hotel - you can just go and choose what you want! Veeeery nice place! The location of the hotel is a great great advantage even knowing all the timetables of trains, boots, etc. ! For only 2 nights the hotel was absolutely fine for us!
