Amber Hill Guesthouse

Perfect price, location, big rooms, nice hot showers

Excellent value for money accomodation. About 10min drive out of the city centre but well worth the effort.

Good stay. I only rated it as good overall rather than excellent because the outside of the guesthouse was a little less than inviting. The service was good and the atmosphere in side of the guesthouse was nice. I had a nice room that was clean and had all of the amenities that I needed. Breakfast was good and checkout was easy. I distance from downtown was less convenient than I needed, but it's okay. I would recommend the guesthouse to others who were in need a of good nights lodging that was just a little bit outside of town.

A good location. Nice to have parking. Convenient for us.

Stayed there for business trip. Room was clean and location was approachable. Ironing board in room was a 10 inch high board and you were expected to put it on the bed to iron. No electrical outlet available to do the actual ironing near bed. if your business requires you to work nights, your room won't be serviced as cleaning crew only comes after 9 in the morning.

Cute B&B! The location was a little far from downtown but otherwise perfect.

Amber Hill is listed as a 4-star B&B, but I'd give it a 2 or 3 star hostel. There is a person staffing 3 B&Bs near each other, all from the same owner. You don't get the expected hospitality from the host, so there is no B&B character. Towels on the first day were rags.. thin, yellowed, frayed and with holes.

Nice place, a bit disappointed that breakfast wasn't included.

I stayed at Amber Hill B&B for 3 nights in a chalet at the back of the B&B, It is a room with self catering (small kitchenette) and 3 beds ( 2 singles and one double) with my parents visiting Ireland. Beds were ok, not the best but ok....my father thought they were not comfy but he is the only one and very difficult regarding beds.... The kitchen was very small and not well equipped (no colander, no sharp knife, etc...) but it was convenient and clean. When we arrive, I've open the fridge and found plenty of smelly water.... I called the reception and a courteous smiling young lady came to clean and fix it right away. I was happy the way they managed the problem, very fast and professional. The rest of the staff was also very helpful. It is a 8 euros taxi ride to the city center if they call it for you, they have a deal with a taxi-company I think. The bathroom was smal but well organized and very clean.

For just one night, it was an excellent pit stop.
