Amber Hill Guesthouse

Nice stay, room was ok, bit on the small side, en suite was nice but there was no hot water in the morning. Wallpaper in room needed replacing. Bit dusty here and there. Member of staff walked into our room during our stay. Chose the continental breakfast option at a cost of 5 euros. Limited choice of cheap produces,

We were disappointed with our stay here. After checking it we discovered that our main ceiling lightbulb was burned out. We immediately reported to the gal working the desk and she promised to have it immediately repaired. We left to do our "10 min" walk to dinner based on staff recommendation. The 10 min walk was really 20 mins at a good pace. Next time we will drive as it was a long walk home at night. Of course our light was not repaired on our return. Our other main complaint is they advertise free high speed wifi coverage. We found it almost impossible to connect with any of the three routers due to low signal and conflicting channels within the hotel and neighbor wifi systems. When we finally got connected after about 15 attempts, it did allow us to stream a show. Overall we felt the rooms are run down and there were a number of broken things in need of repairs. Rooms are noisy with poor noise control and we were awoken numerous times by people getting up early or coming home late from parties. On the plus side, it was a great breakfast. Both the bar and the full Irish breakfast were of good size and selection. On site parking is a real plus in this area and I would not stay in a place not offering it.

Could not fault this guesthouse one bit.

The guesthouse was very nice and the receptionist was quite cute as well. I'd definitely stay there again :)

Close to everything - easy bus to main part of town or a pleasant 25 minute walk along the bay. Great value for the money

Clean, spacious rooms; staff was nice. A bit far from the city center (about a 30-40 minute walk), but we had a car, so we didn't mind the distance. Wish staff was a bit more familiar with the area - one person gave us some good tips; another person said she really didn't know the area so she couldn't share her recommendations.

Very enjoyable stay. Close enough to city center via taxi, yet far enough out to be reasonably priced. Well kept.

The house met our expectations. It was super clean and breakfast was great. I highly recommend and this is a place I would return to.
