Hampton Inn & Suites Childress

The rooms could’ve been cleaner I found glasses underneath the bed our first stay on our second stay I found the sheets had a hole in them. The computer system was down so we could not have keys to our rooms so he had to leave them unlocked if we needed to leave.

Friendly staff. The hotel was older, but once you past the lobby, the hotel did not seem clean. The rooms snd hallways were musty and stale. My feet felt like they were sticking to the carpet in our room. If it had not been after midnight when we arrived, I would have not stayed there.

Pillows are terrible . It was soft pillows . Firm pillows is much better . Staffs from front desk & room attendants were courteous , friendly & service was outstanding .

Dirty. Unfriendly staff. Curtain was broken. Called front desk they said maintenance person was not there and there was nothing they could do. After driving 12 hours we just wanted to sleep. Very noisy. Kids were loud and barking dogs

Stayed overnight as a part of a bigger trip. Overall the hotel is nice, safe and convenient in location. I only scored it a 3 as part of the reason for booking this location was for the indoor pool (I have younger kids traveling) and after traveling for 8+ hrs telling them they can swim when we get to the hotel only to find out the pool was not open was a huge let down.

This hotel backs up to a truck stop. The truckers were slamming doors until 3:30 am then started leaving at 4:30 am. The room smelled musty and my bathroom had loose tiles which I skipped on and the sink had hair in it. I messaged the front desk on the app for body wash which was missing from the shower and they never answered. I went back to check out when I secured another hotel and the staff were sitting in the guest dining area talking. I waited until one of them came to the desk but was unable to check me out so the manager helped her. They were dressed in Hampton polo shirts untucked and all had slovenly appearance. I would suggest you find another hotel or keep driving to the next city.

Everything was perfect and met our expectations. The only issue that is not the hotels fault is the person above us was ‘heavy footed’ and sounded like they were stomping everywhere in the room above us. They also had a dog that barked when they left the room. That only happened at breakfast so it didn’t bother our sleep during the night. Overall it was great and we would stay here again.

The pool hasn’t been working for years. Call ahead for that but at this time they are saying it is the water shortage and I can understand that but the Holiday inn’s pool is up
