Barceló Tenerife

Still here at the Barcelo hotel royal level. The staff are all amazing I didn’t mange to get all their names but Nutria at the royal level pool is just so friendly and gives wonderful service making sure you have all you need. The breakfast team are great and the a la cart breakfast menu Is fabulous. Christmas Day yesterday was amazing and such good fun in the sun. They had thought of everything. Santa arriving the singing the dancing and the food in the evening was exceptional. Thank you all so so much you made Christmas special and you deserve an a BIG thank you. we will return again. My only negative is that the rooms are a bit tiered but it doesn’t affect the overall experience.

A super friendly and fun atmosphere, where you are encouraging to join in the party but not forced! The staff are incredible and the place is so clean and tidy

We stayed for 2 weeks for my daughter’s 2nd birthday. Can’t speak highly enough of the animation team and the bar staff for how much effort they put into making her feel comfortable

A great jewellery workshop today. Best ever in the three years of coming to this lovely hotel. Carla was a great tutor. All the staff are great here and food and ambience amazing.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. Very disappointing stay. A pair of sunglasses worth over £200 went missing from our room and were never recovered. After reporting this, I found multiple recent reviews from November describing similar incidents, which suggests an ongoing security and housekeeping issue. Housekeeping also failed to service our room on two separate occasions, even after notifying reception. Large parts of the hotel were closed due to filming, yet this was not disclosed at booking, prior to arrival, or at check-in. This significantly affected our stay. The food was also extremely poor and nowhere near five-star standard. To make matters worse, the hotel’s only proposed “compensation” was an upgrade on a future stay — requiring us to spend more money returning to the same hotel where the theft occurred. No financial compensation was offered. Overall, this hotel fails on security, service, transparency, and quality. I would not return and would advise others to think carefully before booking.

3 rooms in 2 days, this hotel is not worth the 5 star rating it has at the best 4 star, very tired in places, 1 heated pool with small amount of sunbeds, plenty of beds by the mail pool but ice cold.

Took part in the glass jewelry session, which was brilliant. Rosie explained everything step by step, then we got to make our own pendants, which we could take home.

Well kept for such a large sprawling complex. A bit of a walk to the restaurant. Staff are amazing. Rooms a little dated. Overall an enjoyable stay

We felt pampered. Facilities and staff are exceptional. The place is spotless and there's a big area within the compound with multiple swimming pools. There's a well managed garden throughout of local plants - lots of cactii. In terms of facilities, there's rock climbing, a soccer pitch, beach volleyball, table tennis. Some pools are heated. Some have sea-water. And there are gates from the gardens to the coastal walk outside with good swimming spots nearby. If you swim outside, bring beach or swimming shoes - the volcanic rock can feel quite sharp. Once in the sea, the temp was about 20°C - it's worth bringing goggles for the variety of fish you'll see. Or you can stay inside the compound and participate in communal activities like aquarobics, canoeing or yoga. There's a decent gym. There was a small library of books to borrow if you forgot to bring your own. Room facilities are excellent and staff are relaxed and friendly. We went half-board and the range of food choices was excellent. I loved the range of salads, the choice of meats and, to my (almost) regret, the range of desserts. I indulged - but made sure to the gym an hour later to do my penance. To manage flow, they ask that you reserve your eating time in advance on the hotel app. That was no bother. I don't normally say this, but I'd go again.
