"Wonderful holiday"

10.0

We spent a wonderful week at Michelangelo Resort & Spa and everything was absolutely excellent. The hotel offers stunning sea views, cleanliness, high-quality service, and a truly relaxing atmosphere. 🔹 The staff was always kind, smiling, and helpful – from reception to restaurant and bar service.🔹 We would especially like to highlight our housekeeper Georgia, who made sure our room was spotless every single day. She paid attention to the smallest details and always ensured everything we needed was in place. Her work was truly professional and full of care – thank you so much! 💙 🔹 The infinity pool is breathtaking – the perfect spot to unwind with a panoramic view over the sea.🔹 The food was tasty, fresh, and offered a wide variety every day.🔹 The beach, although pebbled, was clean and well-maintained, with crystal-clear water. We can wholeheartedly recommend Michelangelo Resort & Spa to anyone looking for a perfect mix of relaxation, luxury, and Greek hospitality. Thank you for an unforgettable stay – we hope to return one day!

"The most amazing hotel, need to come back ASAP"

10.0

This holiday was so incredible. Can’t even put it all into words but this hotel was amazing and tops all my holidays I’ve had so far. The view was just astonishing and I feel so grateful I could wake up to it. Absolutely amazing staff, especially the pool bar staff. They were so kind, friendly, funny and we will really miss them. Shoutout to Harry and Mateo for being so lovely and accommodating. The food was 10/10, buffet was really tasty and it was so nice to have a meal at both the sushi restaurant and Mediterranean. These restaurants were lovely and we got four courses included in both as we had the all inclusive package (see pictures). Lots to do during the day, other than sit around the gorgeous pools. We played table tennis, did yoga and aqua aerobics. The lady running these sports sessions was fab and really gets you involved. Thankyou Michaelangelo resort and spa, we already miss it so much and cannot wait to come back.

"Not a 5 star experience"

4.0

The infinity pool at the Michelangelo seems to be the draw to this hotel. After coming home and reading more of the reviews , there seems to be a common theme over the last few years and I have little confidence that the management will address these, as they haven’t done so far.Maybe if the tour. Operators start seeing these reviews things may change ! We left feeling like we were an inconvenience. The service at breakfast particularly for drinks was awful, having to ask numerous times . There’s just not enough staff , I don’t understand why they don’t have drink machines . The staff on duty can’t keep up with serving drinks and clearing tables , it felt like a canteen .As others have mentioned there are flies on the food . We were woken 5 mornings out of our 7 night stay by housekeeping - 3 times knocking the door and opening it at 8:45 in the morning ! Far too early on holiday for clearing the room and other times shouting loudly before 7am . We get up early every working day of our lives and don’t want this on holiday .we weren’t made to feel welcome , the restaurant manager told us to move from seats at the Mediterranean restaurant at 21:50 saying it was for reservations only ! There were plenty of empty tables .there were no seats in the main bar , so went to sit here and were spoken to in a very unfriendly manner . The main bar doesn’t have enough seating for the evening . Overall there just isn’t any atmosphere . The best staff were at the Asian restaurant, why this can’t be the same across the hotel is a shame , left disappointed, certainly not on our list to return or recommend . Doesn’t deserve the current 5star rating , improvements need to be made . The majority of the sun beds were ripped . Also think it may be better branded as adults only as not enough facilities for children , particularly in the evenings with the lack of seating areas.

"Lovely but not 5 star."

8.0

We’ve just returned home from a lovely week at the michaelangelo resort & spa. Whilst the hotel in itself is clean and picturesque, it is not a 5 star hotel. The best part of the hotel is the main pool area, due to the view. The sunbeds are comfy and the area is kept very clean in general. Always guaranteed a sunbed at anytime of the day somewhere! Although there were waiters wondering around the pool, we were only asked once in 7 days if we would like a drink. The rooms were a let down… Although clean, we never had our bed changed throughout the whole week. Towels changed daily. The furniture was slightly worn. A couple of nights we had a cold shower due to no hot water. The rainfall shower did not run evenly. We had 2 small bottles of water in the mini fridge on arrival. These were not replaced after that. We stayed HB. You get your morning coffee with your breakfast, but after that you pay for every drink, even a glass of water with meals. The main restaurant is very school canteen like! No atmosphere. Lots of staff standing around but some evenings you had your dinner on the table before they came to take a drink order. We sat watching birds fly in and eating the bread whilst staff didn’t attempt to shoo them away. We swapped our evening meal one day for lunch as we were venturing out, we were given a token which was checked as you walk into the canteen. Once we sat down, a waiter came over to us (I presume because we wasn’t wearing wristbands) and interrupted us eating to request for us to show our voucher again… which made us feel abit judged and out of place. However the buffet food was always hot and tasty! The a la carte restaurants were lovely, but again no atmosphere. One restaurant is situated at the children’s pool. The bar staff both day and night were very hot and cold. Some friendly, some not. You could stand waiting to be served whilst they continued to talk amongst themselves. Overall, we had a lovely stay, however luckily we were just after a relaxing holiday. If we were to have booked this hotel for something special, we would have been disappointed. The extra touches, mostly down to the service, is missing.

"Wonderful and peaceful vacation"

10.0

my wife and I spend 10 wonderful days at Michelangelo. Both pools are amazing but I prefer the quiet one. The big one is noisy and is only for photos. The food was delicious and with many different options every day. Live music every day at the veranda of main bar as well as at the pool some days. The rooms are large with wonderful view to Turkey. The beach is nice but needs renovation. Finally thanks to George , Konstantina, Henry and of course Kostas.

"Amazing hotel"

10.0

The staff are all amazing and cannot do anymore for you. They all great you to say hello and this includes the cleaners. Bar staff the best I have seen and I have done many holidays. The good choice is not plentiful as it is a small hotel however always hot and very tasty. A must is the Mediterranean and Soya restaurants however the main restaurant was excellent for all meals. Entertainment was varied and I would like to single out the couple who sang on the Sunday night they were so good and sounded like the singers who sang the original song. The infinity pool is the show stopper and the views from here are amazing. The parasols are fixed so you do struggle to get shade at times throughout the day. Overall one of my favourite holidays I have had.

Hotel is a little dated, quiet location. 20mins to old town. Staff very happy and accommodating. We had a Seaview room with an amazing view. We paid for the all inclusive package, buffet, lunch and dinners, we stayed 3 nights and every day the food was changed. Whilst it was a buffet the quality of food was great for a buffet. We enjoyed our brief stay, too many great staff to single anyone out.

"R&R but not 5*"

8.0

Just back from a lovely week here. As a first-time solo traveller, I immediately felt at home and appreciated the warm welcome and treatment by the staff. As others have said, the hotel definitely isn’t 5*. It’s very nice and comfortable but there are a number of areas that let it down and it is comparable to many a standard 4* that I have stayed in previously. On my first night, the wind was incredibly loud and whistled noisily through the room - there was a huge gap beneath the door. From the second night, I placed a rolled towel along the base of the door and wedged it there with the stool, and the noise was hugely diminished - but that’s not the kind of things guests should need to do in a 5* hotel. The view from the infinity pool is breathtaking - looking out over the sea to Turkey. I’m an early bird so would often be by the pool by 8am after an early breakfast, when there were always plenty of beds and on the whole I always secured the same spot. While the pool is cold, I found it to be very welcome, particularly when the wind dropped and the temperatures soared. If you bit the bullet and just got straight in, it was blissful! I dined outside for every meal (despite being somewhat challenging a couple of evenings when it was so windy!) I’ve read that others had dreadful drinks service in the restaurant, but I never found this to be a problem - perhaps the outside area was better served than inside. The a la carte restaurants were particularly good. I downloaded the app and booked for all options as soon as I arrived and managed to secure both evening restaurants and the a la carte breakfast. The food at Soya was incredibly tasty, and the views from Mediterráneo in the evening were beautiful. As the hotel is somewhat out of the way (a 20 minute, one euro bus ride to Kos Town), if you’re looking for an action-packed holiday, this isn’t the place for you. But, if you want, as I did, a week to switch off in beautiful surroundings, it really is a lovely place to be. A few tips: - Get a sea view room if you can. Privilege rooms are the first line, sea view doubles are the second - it would be a waste to come to this hotel and be facing inland - Book a la carte options as soon as you arrive - the food is very good in both and the staff are charming - Drinks service during dinner in the restaurant seems to be much more efficient if you sit outside - Sunbeds by the infinity pool are pretty full by 10am. Few people reserved the week I was there, but have an early breakfast and get there for 8ish to nab the spot you want - Get the bus into Kos Town - it goes from the flags at the top of the hotel driveway and is one euro. Don’t miss the amazing archeological sites whilst there - well worth an explore! Keep an eye on the return times or you could be waiting a while - The room door seals aren’t great. If it’s windy, pop a rolled up towel at the base of the door and push it in using the little stool in the room - much much quieter! - The morning yoga class is lovely and a great way to get going - There are a lot of steps throughout the hotel grounds - bare in mind if you have restricted mobility - If you have a late transfer when you leave, there is a shower room that you can book for half an hour. Book early to get the best slot - A light lunch is served in the Mediterranean restaurant, as well as a larger buffet in the main restaurant. If you’re by the pool, mediterráneo is on the doorstep and there’s still a reasonable selection - AI drinks options are somewhat limited and no 0% options. Rose wine in the main restaurant is quite nice, rose in the Soya restaurant is like ribena - Airport transfer is about 1hr20 - and the last drop/first pick up - Bring plenty of sunscreen - it’s 20eur in the hotel shop and it’s the only option in close vicinity

"Stunning Location"

8.0

Overall have had a lovely 10 days here. Can’t give 5 stars because it’s definitely not a 5* Hotel. Room toiletries are sparse and cheap. We booked a twin room, got given a double, and I spent 10 nights on a sofa bed. Food a bit bland and samey and service doesn’t live up to 5*. I would echo what others say - everyone seems bored and there doesn’t seem to be any teamwork between themselves. No-one really stood out. BUT what an amazing infinity pool - swim 12 lengths and you’ve swum a mile. All entertainment is great, epically the 3 piece Friday night band. Gabbi, the fitness instructor, is lovely and very good at her job (Deffo get down to the kids play area for Pilates, Yoga or both in the mornings). Kos is a short bus ride away and is lovely. Shops are open all day in the Old Town and there’s some amazing yachts in the marina. Very easy to jump on a boat trip from there. Spa is lovely and staff are friendly and efficient. Gym overpromises and under delivers but, who cares, do Pilates and swim instead 🤷‍♀️ Two words of caution - steps! The hotel is set on a cliff side so, if to you struggle with mobility, it’s tricky to make it all the way down to the beach and up and down to the pool on one level and the bar and restaurant on another. AND - wind! Our first couple of days it was nearly gale force! This side of the island is famous for it, apparently. We didn’t know that! The rest of the stay, and at a slightly slower speed, you’ll be very grateful for it. Would we come back? Absolutely! Yes!
