HL Club Playa Blanca Hotel

Really good experience in HL Club Playa Blanca, with an amazing atmosphere created by the animation team. They are amazing with the guests and the child’s. Restaurant and bar as well really kind with everyone!

Honest review as a family of 4 (two 30 year olds with a 3 yo & baby).. Overall I would say this hotel isn’t quite a 4* compared to other ones we have stayed at but definitely at the higher end of the 3* range. I know there are a lot of mixed reviews on here, which worried me on the lead up to our holiday, but as someone with lots of contributions on trip advisor I’d like to think you can trust my review and my opinion. Hotel & grounds: Gorgeous. The hotel is made up of lots of bungalows rather than a standard hotel layout. The grounds are beautiful with lots of trees and flowers around. The bungalows themselves are very spacious with lots of room especially for a family. Not the most modern but we didn’t have any problems and had everything we needed. A small fridge, kettle, cups, hairdryer. We loved our 2 bedroom bungalow and it was a great little home for our holiday. Location: The hotel is around a 10/15 minute walk from the front (uphill on the way back). Which doesn’t bother us as we like to be out and about but may be a problem for someone else depending on their walking abilities. The only thing I didn’t like about the location was it is on a busy 40kph main road which I didn’t feel comfortable crossing with my two young children - especially as it seems to be hit and miss whether cars want to stop at the zebra crossing for you or not. Playa Blanca itself is lovely and laid back but not for us and is not somewhere we will be returning to. Food - Overall we didn’t have any issues with food. Any cold, undercooked or raw food that other people seemed to have complained about is not something we ever came across. Food is standard AI (some days better than others) but we all found something to eat every day. My fiancé is also one to complain if he doesn’t think food is up to much and even he enjoyed most of it. There are themed nights and the best one was 100% the Chinese night. There was some gorgeous food that evening. Staff - Majority of staff we came across were very smiley and helpful from reception to restaurant. Entertainment staff were great and my little boy loved them and the Mini Disco every evening. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and if we could take this hotel and place it somewhere else we would definitely stay again. For the price we paid we were very happy. Just be mindful that this is definitely a child and family oriented hotel so if that is not the kind of vibe you are looking for/would be happy with then maybe look for somewhere else. Especially seen as there did seem to be a high number of children not being parented to the best ability and being allowed to act a certain way. But obviously I understand this is in no way the responsibility of the hotel but a reflection of individuals themselves. We had a great holiday and it is a great place to stay.

We have just come back from a surprise week at this resort. We were supposed to go to Maderia but our flights were cancelled the day before, so we had little choice of where to go as an alternative. However, we ended up here, which of course wasn't our first choice. I will start with the positives. The accommodation, was laid out very well with 2 bedrooms a lounge and a bathroom with two sinks. It was a little bit tired inside and furniture very basic, but it felt as though you had lots of personal space which was very welcomed. There was a patio outside with a table and 4 chairs. It would've been great to have a couple of sun loungers as we found our bungalow was an escape from the feral families around the pool. Location - we found it ideal as a base for exploring. Although not right on the front it was close enough and only a short walk down to the beaches and coastal path. However, if you are less able I am sure you can find accommodation closer to the front. The staff - all very friendly and helpful. Especially the staff in the restaurant and the bar. Some of the cleaners didn't acknowledge you, even when we tried communicating in spanish. The food - sorry to say this was just ok at best. Nothing was ever very warm even when we tried going in when the restaurant had first opened. We found the noise from the families overwhelming, people don't even make their kids sit down to eat! I think this place would benefit from an adults only area in the restaurant which could be easily achieved with a partition. Presentation - when you arrive at the hotel - you are greeted with a split and broken door mat, surely the management can see this is an awful welcome for it's guests and probably less than a few hundred euros to sort. Overall - its ok, but not what we wanted. Would we go again, no we wouldn't. However, if we had a young family, would we consider it - possibly. Was it value for money - I am not sure, due to only booking one day before. It was the same price as our planned Madeira holiday which looked to be of a much higher standard, so probably not.

Well where do I start, only here for the week on arrival met with reception lady no introductions just given map to our villa we asked about Internet and paid 39 euros for it it's basically dial up we made our way up to the room very basic nothing for us no tea coffee shampoo nothing no welcome pack good job we brought everything with us even though we are all inclusive beds are poor rock hard no duvets just army blankets food was good and had many options staff offer no interaction at all been here a week and ready for home

Experience was 10/10 couldn’t complain about a thing. Entertainment team and the workers are the funniest people I’ve probably met!!

Lovely hotel everything set out really well. The entertaining reps are amazing and always keeping people entertained and always things to do.

We are having a fantastic stay at the hl club playa blanca, the hotel is very clean, easy acsessable, great location, has everthing you need staff are very friendly and helpful, entertainment team are amazing they cant do enogh for you and always putting a smile on your face while checking up on you daily and making you holiday enjoyable overall a fantastic place would definately return and recommend to everyone 😊
