"Corporate Takeover"

6.0

Was once a nice unique B and B has turned into a corporate below average stay. We knew from the start that the traditional New Year's Eve dinner from prior years was no longer when they said they were working on it one day prior. I was on the upper level when I over heard what I think was a vendor throwing F bombs having a conversation with the manager. In the morning, I came downstairs not to find any coffee or clean mugs with condiments available. (cream, sugar, etc.). No warm pastries that was one there in the past. The food was 3 stars as well as the overall service. What was once a five star B and B is no longer. This is not throwing any blame to the staff that was there but to an obvious corporate takeover that likely sacked the previous staff to cut costs and try to profit. Once again not to blame the new staff. They were only doing their best.

"One persons view"

Nice place. Over rated. Seemed dated. Lacks some amenities you might expect in such a place. Not sure what the small plates a dinner hour are meant to accomplish. Snacks probably make more sense. Just not sure the rating is justified

"Short but Sweet"

8.0

This lodge is just down the road from the village of Mendocino and offers a wonderful bento box with wine pairing food service each evening. The comfortable lodge-style living room features leather armchairs with newspapers, magazines, books, movies and games with giant French doors that lead to an ocean-facing porch. Our bed was super comfortable. We only stayed one night: wish we'd had another day to stay!

"Nightmare at Fort Bragg"

2.0

My girlfriend and I booked two nights at Brewery Goldscheden Spa through Groupon and drove nearly five hours to get there, itinerary planned for the weekend. When we arrived, we were told our reservation did not exist. No apology. No effort to help us find another hotel. No attempt to rebook us. The manager told us she personally is not connected to Groupon, so it was not her problem, despite the fact that the conglomerate that owns this property is the one that listed it on Groupon in the first place. The convenient excuse for why nobody could actually fix this? The regional manager was in the "Bahamas," so apparently no one with authority was available. Another guest had the exact same issue that same day. The womans Isabella or something so definitely watch out. We were essentially told to figure it out ourselves. Rude, dismissive, and zero accountability. If you are looking to stay in the area, the Stanford Inn is 10x nicer and is not staffed by a bunch of exhausted looking, unhelpful, unfriendly people. Go there instead.

"Excellent B&B near Mendocino"

10.0

Beautiful wooded property, convenient to Mendocino and numerous state parks. Large, tasty free breakfast. At 5:30-6:30 they serve a light meal (included), which can be enough for dinner. Friendly, helpful staff.

"LOVED IT HERE"

10.0

Staying here was one of the coolest experiences I have had at a hotel/inn. The rooms are rustic, nothing fancy about them, but they have a lot of charm and are very cozy. The coolest thing about staying here are the 5:30 pm dinner boxes you get every day that you can take outside, sit by the fire, or even stay in your room if you want! The food is excellent and it’s just a fun experience not knowing what you will be trying. Breakfast is so yummy and that is also included in the stay. Once you package in the room, dinner, & breakfast it really is a good deal. Staff was so friendly and the common area space is so cozy. I LOVED IT HERE. The location was convenient to downtown Mendocino , Fort Bragg, Russian Gulch park, Van Damme park, and not too far from wineries. Trails are close and views are beautiful.

"Renewed at Brewery Gulch"

10.0

My husband and I recently went to Mendocino to renew our vows and stayed at the Brewery Gulch Inn & Spa. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was great. We especially liked the bento boxes distributed for wine hour. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing. We are typically always on the go, but we found ourselves finding our way back to the Inn in the afternoons to have coffee and play Scrabble on the table sized board. I highly recommend this place.
