Palazzo Marzoli Resort

My reservation was for an ocean view room at the resort. However, we were put up in a completely different building, La Caravella Residence. La Caravella is a very old and outdated apartment building. While it is directly across from the beach, it does not feel or look like a resort. The room we were put in wreaked of cigarette smoke and had a view of beach umbrellas. I called the resort office about the difference in locations and to complain about the smell (supposed to be nonsmoking) and the man ended up hanging up on me. I was frustrated and reached out to Expedia and also wrote a Google review, which led to the property manager contacting me to explain that my original room at the resort had a bathroom plumbing problem that couldn’t be addressed, so I was moved. He then gave me an option for a different room on the second floor at La Caravella, which we took as it had a better view and didn’t smell like smoke. Manager should’ve been honest from the beginning. Very rude man. All in all the location is perfect, but the facilities are very outdated and would benefit from some investment - especially new mattresses, pillows, and towels.

Rosa was amazing. The rooms are very spacious and our balcony was quite large with two beach chairs and a table and chairs. Very well equipped. The shower are outdated but as you walk out you’re at the beach. Can’t ask for more!

NOT RECOMMENDED- Very questionable practices. Arrived late at night for check-in to prepaid room with family. Hotel begin checking us in then demanded we pay an additional $500 in CASH ONLY in order to check in and to accommodate 2 children/teen with us, fine print online states additional person $143. In addition, we did not need a larger room at all since our reservation was already made for the larger room but it was clear they thought they could take advantage. They then attempted to charge $100 for parking whereas other hotels in same area cost ranges up to $50. They also added the tourist tax per person which was not an issue since this is standard. However, the demand of cash only, the detailed instructions regarding ATM location, refusal to add these "legitimate" charges to an itemized bill and charge to card really made us question the legality of the hotels' practices and hotels.com awareness of the same. The vibe here made us extremely uncomfortable and reminded me very much of the American movie GET OUT, very strange vibe. We decided it best not to stay given the bait and switch tactics. We have since filed a complaint for further investigation and for appropriate refund. It was clear that the hotel (not a resort) attempted to take advantage of what they believed was unsuspecting American tourist. We ended up enjoying the Art Hotel / Hotel Pasitea which has been updated and had great staff and service!!!

The view from our room's balcony was unreal! The hotel was clean and in good shape. As long as you're willing to walk the 750 stairs up from the beach, this is a great place to stay!

Sea view from terrace, location close to buses from other towns and local bus to/from beach. Breakfast delivered to room.

SMALL HOTEL WITH GREAT VIEW. THE HOTEL IS LOCATED AT UPHILL FAR AWAY FROM SHOPS,RESTAURANTS, BEACH ETC. WALKING DISTANCE TO ALL THE ATTRACTIONS 35-45 MINUTES (UPHILL COULD BE VERY PAINFULL) DEFFINETLY NOT RECOMENDED FOR SMALL CHILDREN OR PEOPLE WITH SPECIALS NEEDS. NO WELLNESS OR JACUZZI AVAILABLE!! VERY POOR BREAKFAST AND SERVICE. DEFINITELY NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL

Beautiful place. Situated above town you have a great view of Positano. The walk to the beach is about 15 or so minutes down the stairs. We opted to take the bus back each time for €1.80. It drops you off about 3 min from the front door. The balcony is nice and relaxing. Garage parking was a great option as the car was safe and ready to load once we were ready to leave. Highly recommend

Very quaint family owned hotel. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The room was clean and the view was spectacular. The staff went above and beyond to help us plan our day. We would definitely go back. Thank you for your hospitality.
