Turbot House Hotel

The room was dirty, furniture broken, i had to request new towels twice (i was there over a week - only because i paid), room not made up or cleaned once in the entire stay. Felt like a bad hostel would pay $40 max

They couldnt find our booking, then gave us the wrong room. We got the right one eventually. Windows were dirty. Paint was peeling. There was tea, coffee and milk, 2 mismatched mugs and 1 glass. No cutlery. Cockroaches in bathroom. Broken tap. No exhaust fan in bathroom. Bed was uncomfortable. Sheets were clean. Location was good.

There is a place for this kind of accomodation in a city like Brisbane. Sometimes you just need a place to sleep and wash and that is about all this accomodation is good for. However, it would be nice if the room had been maintained. The toilet cistern had a persistent noisy leak and drip so I had to turn the water off and back on every time I wanted to use the toilet. There was no shower curtain so the toilet got soaked every time I used the shower in the tiny bathroom. And the stains on the walls and carpet pointed to horrors that had occurred in the room before. The cockroaches were doing their best to clean it up but there seem to be some stains that just won't budge. The bedding was clean and the mattress was acceptably comfortable for me. Natural light and ventilation in the room was limited but somehow someones cigarette smoke was still getting in. Overall it felt like an overpriced experience.

Really skechy small rooms

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel was central and quiet.

Disgusting carpet, full of mould on shower curtain and shower, peeling paint, water damaged ceiling cornicing, rusted fridge, decayed cabinet, hair in shower, damaged entry door, tv not working, mildew smell. Only stayed 1 night and was raining and dark outside otherwise would have changed hotel. No dining available. False advertising and photos deceiving. Don’t stay here. $156 far far too much. Should be condemned.

Place wasn't clean. Lots of cockroaches running amok. Floor needed vacuuming.

I was given a messy room, but they quickly moved me into another.

Worst place i have ever stayed and i have worked all over australia. The Bed was painful. The fire escape plan was broken. Shower was dirty and shower fitting was rusty and the floor was disgustingly dirty not vacumed in over a week and a Peep hole in door blocked with an old soap packet. People could can see into ur room. Homless person living near the entry was the safest thing about this place.

The shower was filthy it didn’t look like it had ever been cleaned & the bedding was weird just sheets & no doona or blanket I wasn’t happy with this place at all I will never stay there again 😡
