Dumbleton Hall Hotel

Lovely situation and so nice to think this used to be a Post Office owned mansion for their workers. Peaceful gardens and plenty of space at a reasonable price. Dog friendly. New smart tv but smart facility was unuseable. Also was lovely to have a coffee machine but had to ask for some pods and guess how to operate it.

The staff at Dumbleton are extremely helpful and welcoming. The room was small but clean and comfortable and had been recently refurbished. The hotel grounds are stunning and the setting is quiet with amazing views over the grounds. We only stayed one night but would definitely stay again if visiting this area.

For an American. Dumbleton Hall was like a Downton Abbey from the TV series. It is like a magically English manor in the beautiful England country side. Even though the interior of the building is a bit outdated, but that didn't bother us. When we arrived with rental cars, we were greeted by hundreds of sheep. You will definitely have a good night sleep with all the sheep baaing at night.

Beautiful old building, staff friendly and helpful. We had a standard double which was clean and comfortable, but decor a bit plain. No air conditioning but on a hot day, the room was cool enough to sleep. Grounds are lovely and we enjoyed a walk around the lake. Breakfast was good with a cold buffet and hot food served to your table.

This was my family's favorite place of our two week journey across the UK. The grounds were vast and there were sheep in the front. Lots of space for kids to run and trees for them to climb. We loved the dining room and the food was good. The hotel had the Downton Abbey look and feel. It was so peaceful and charming - a magical stay!

Location and building were charming. The hotel could use a refresh, but hopefully the new owners will keep some of the period details (those that still remain). We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meals. Overall, we were happy with our stay and value for money.

This is an elegant place in a very quiet and comfortable surrounding. The breakfast, which is included on the cost, was exceptionally tasty.

had a nice overnight stay. lovely building, location so peaceful and quiet. food and service in restaurant was excellent, decor in hotel could use a bit of upgrading as a bit tired but his seems to be the same everywhere. the only problem we had was with the lady on reception we initially arrived at 2.30 check in was 3 as journey didnt take as long as we thought and thought we would advise that we had arrived and go and have a drink as room probably not ready. The reaction we got made me think that we had committed the crime of the century. im sure we are not the only people to have ever shown up early however ger reaction led to us going elsewhere for a drink. we returned 2 hours later and had the misfortune to be served by the same lady. This time she gave us a key that did not work and after climbing 2 flights of stairs returned to be given another key that did not work.on again returning she checked what room i was trying then promply argued with me that i was going to he wrong room . she gave me a key and told me to go to a different roomwhich i promply did however this time there were other guests already in the room ?? luckily they were decent and saw the funny side. i returned to the desk again and fi ally got a key that work but her attitude was disgusting perhaps my punishment for turning up early!
