Chequers Inn Hotel

Room was adequate size for 3 adults and beds comfortable at the historic old pub.

Used towel in bathroom hanging on the door and only 2 clean ones for 3 of us. Mentioned to staff who promised another but didn't happen.

Lovely town, basic room but clean and comfortable

Parking was difficult during the day but ok later in the evening.

The room was clean and budget friendly the staff were pleasant and the old hotel is nice would be lovely to sit by the fire in winter time

We needed more pillows and towels. Also we were not informed the reception is closed on Sunday and Monday so there was no one to help. The team were friendly when they were there though

Room was old and very dated. Whilst the bed sheets were clean, the kettle was dusty, there was a coffee cup from previous guests (I do not drink Tea or Coffee), and the Shower Hose had seen better days. Leaving at 0730 the front of the hotel was locked up, no reception, no means to get someone if there was a problem so had to sneak out the back door. Certainly would not recommend staying at this "hotel"

Reasonably priced. Room was well equipped, Location was good for food and pubs,

Its dated but they are doing repairs, Remote control didnt work for tv (that's an easy fix. you just try it every time you clean the room). I couldnt find internet while I was there mind you if I'd asked it would probably been sorted out. First impressions when you walk into the pub are that it is very dark and unwelcoming. All you've got to do is get some low energy bulbs and turn some lights on. That would make the world of difference.

The owner is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations and doesn't serve meals, but there are several good places to eat nearby, so that is not a problem.

The accommodation is in a beautiful old building. The room is quite sparse but very clean and had all we needed for a one night stop over stay. There was no en suite shower (it was a shared one next door) but there was a very adequate and.clean en suite toilet and sink. We stayed on a Saturday evening. The pub was open and the staff were incredibly friendly and couldn’t do enough to make us feel at home. We felt that any unimportant extras lacking were very much and very fairly reflected in the cheaper price. We would definitely stay here again.

Nothing important was lacking considering the price.
