I’m sharing this because I wish someone had warned me before we booked. I stayed at Jaz Aquamarine from 15/01 to 26/01 while six months pregnant. I felt mildly unwell during the stay, nothing serious, but out of caution the hotel advised me to visit the on-site medical clinic. From the moment I arrived, I felt pressured. Staff insisted I needed IV treatment for dehydration. I made it very clear that I could not receive antibiotics due to my medical history, and I was repeatedly told this would not happen. I was assured the drip contained only fluids, minerals, and vitamins. I felt better quickly, yet I was asked to return again and again. Over two days, I received three IV drips. At the final visit, I was presented with a bill of €2,040, which felt completely disproportionate to the treatment. When we questioned the charges, we were shown documentation stating that antibiotics had been administered, directly contradicting what I had been told and what I had consented to. The clinic’s own blood test showed no bacterial infection, making antibiotics unnecessary in the first place. As a pregnant woman, this was terrifying. When I asked for details of the medication so I could contact my doctor, the clinic refused to provide this information unless the bill was paid in full. This felt like being trapped and used as leverage rather than being treated as a patient. Hotel management became involved, discounts were discussed and then reduced, and we were even asked to sign a document waiving the clinic’s liability. We refused. Only after an extremely stressful exchange were we allowed to pay without signing and finally receive the medical information. I am writing this to warn future guests, particularly pregnant women. The resort itself appears polished, but the medical clinic operating on-site caused us serious distress and fear during what should have been a safe holiday. Formal complaints have been filed, and we are taking this matter further.

Staff at this hotel are excellent. Maki Tukai is a first class dining experience. We ate here 4 times. The food was first class. Staff are very friendly and super efficient.

This is not our first time staying at Jaz Aquamarine, in rooms 5104 and 5103. The staff are truly very friendly and welcoming. Starting from the reception, Mr. Mohamed Atta was extremely cooperative. The animation team is excellent, and the bars staff are great as well. Housekeeping was very respectful, especially a staff member named Labib. I would also like to give special thanks to Chef Mohamed Abdel Moneim — he was honestly very cooperative with the group. He truly helps from the heart, with great kindness and warmth.

Before booking, I strongly recommend reading recent reviews carefully. We stayed at Jaz Aquamarine from 15/01 to 26/01. During our stay, my wife did not feel completely well, something many other guests have also reported. We suspect the food was the cause. Her symptoms were mild, but because she is six months pregnant, hotel staff advised her to visit the on-site medical clinic. From this point onward, things became very concerning. At the clinic, staff were very persistent in convincing her to receive an IV drip for dehydration. There were many other so called doctors present, which added pressure to agree. She was asked to complete a short intake form with basic information such as her name and room number and to sign it. From the start, my wife made it absolutely clear that she must not be given antibiotics due to her medical history. The clinic confirmed this and reassured her several times that the treatment would consist only of fluids with vitamins and minerals. She felt better quickly, yet the clinic insisted she return repeatedly. In total, she received three drips over two days, lasting around 2.5 hours in total. At the final visit, we were shocked to be presented with a bill of €2,040, which seemed completely disproportionate to the treatment received. When we asked for an explanation, the treatment summary listed antibiotics, despite the earlier assurances and her explicit instructions. This is a serious issue, especially as the clinic’s own blood test results showed no bacterial infection, meaning antibiotics were not required at all. The clinic then pointed to fine print on the intake form as justification for the charges. Naturally, my wife wanted to immediately consult our own doctor to understand whether receiving antibiotics could pose a risk during pregnancy. The clinic, however, refused to provide details of the medication unless the full amount was paid first, using this as leverage despite their apparent medical error. We escalated the situation to hotel management. A 25% reduction was suddenly offered, but there was still no cooperation in providing medical information. We contacted both our embassy and our insurance company, who confirmed that they were familiar with similar situations involving private clinics in Egypt and advised us on how to proceed. Because everything happened late at night, we returned to the clinic the next morning. Our insurance provider had already emailed confirmation that they would cover the costs, but the clinic claimed they had not received it, even though we had proof. At that point, the discount was reduced to 15%, which I refused. The clinic then demanded that I sign a document releasing them from all liability in order to receive any discount at all. I refused to sign. After a very tense discussion, they finally allowed payment without the waiver and released the medical records. We are now traveling home and feel it is important to warn other guests. While the resort appears well-run on the surface, our experience with the associated medical center was deeply troubling. In our view, guests are put at risk when an opportunity arises to generate excessive charges. This situation appears to be part of a broader pattern, driven by the clinic and seemingly tolerated by hotel management. Formal complaints have been submitted to both the hotel and the clinic, and we are pursuing this matter further.

Jaz Aquamarine/Jaz Blue are one and the same hotel although I believe Jaz Blue is slightly cheaper. we went in January for some sun. You can use the restaurants and amenities in both hotels. The food in the main restaurants is ok but a bit repetitive, the al a carte are very good we particularly liked the India The steak house al a carte is extra we went and were extremely disappointed at a cost of 71 euro we did however receive a 15% discount and extra al a carte after we complained, The rooms are quite large and we had no complaints there as the room was kept spotless. Drinks in the bars and restaurants are off a decent quality. Local shops are a bit of nightmare with loads of hassle from the shop keepers.

Beautiful hotel! Many pools, part of them were heated. Excellent service and very clean enviroment and rooms. Delicious food, could have been more local? A few shops in the hotel area and many activities. Highly recommend the snorkeling!! Had to take taxi where ever you wanted to go, long way walk to marine or towncenter. (Cheap taxis.) Had to use earplugs to sleep, nextdoor hotel had a party every evening.. (our room was in the 1st building, closest to the neighboring hotel) Recommend for families and kids. Was also good for a couple to stay, good drinks! Keycards didn't work at all and they didn't fix the problem...

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. Its very clean. The rooms are modern and a good size. The staff are mostly very polite and helpful. The gardens and outside areas are very well kept. There are a few shops within the complex, however they are a bit expensive. The food was mostly nice however found also it to be a bit "samey", just the usual with any all inclusive hotel. The hotel is security is very visable , so it felt very safe. Hurghada itself is what I would say as an up and comming resort and has a bit to do in the tourist experince yet. There is a lot of building going on and I feel in the next few years it will just improve.

Amazing services and lovely hotel. We enjoyed our stay at Jaz Aquamarine and the meals were really delicious.

Our favorite hotel in Egypt! The staff are extremely friendly, kind, and helpful. Whenever we had a question, they immediately assisted us. They were also very helpful when we needed medical care. The hotel’s location is amazing, and the rooms are beautiful and very well cleaned. The surroundings are stunning. The food is delicious, and there are plenty of good programs and activities available. Shopping opportunities are also nearby, with a shopping center close to the hotel. If you are traveling early in the morning, they can prepare a breakfast box, so you won’t miss breakfast. The spa services are excellent as well. As a small “negative,” I would say that returning guests who have been coming back for over 10 years could perhaps receive some extra service or special treatment, not just a gold bracelet.
