"Lovely hotel in a beautiful town"

6.0

Close to the centre of town set in a beautiful garden - it is a lovely place. Check in was efficient and friendly as this is a family run hotel and they were very attentive. They proactively made me a breakfast box as I was leaving very early the next day, offered to get me transport to the station and assist with my luggage. The rooms only have an alcohol run heater which you need them to fill and light. Unfortunately it doesn't last all night so the room is very cold in the morning and there is no other heating

"Hotel Samanapaq - beautiful, friendly, comfie"

10.0

Hotel is simply lovely, with a great garden and views of the mountains. There's comfie chairs around a fire place in the common area and hammocks outside for reading and napping. We had a great room with a balcony. Folks in the office were really helpful, letting us store our luggage when we went to MP. They answered all our questions and made us feel very at home. The only negative is the crazy traffic in Ollataytambo which is certainly not the fault of the hotel. There are huge buses, vans, taxis all rumbling down a little Inka street never intended for more than people. So when our taxi was dropping us off at the hotel, there was really no safe place for him to stop without blocking traffic (which is what he eventually did). It is a shame that the city and country don't have a better solution. My vote is that the whole town should be for pedestrians only. It was downright scary sometimes when there was no room for pedestrians. But the hotel is great -- highly recommend

"Exceptional"

10.0

This is a really lovely little country hotel right in town, nestled between the mountains. From an unassuming stone wall at street level, you enter into a beautifully landscaped flowering garden. There are extensive, comfortable common areas (they'll light the fireplace for you on request) and a very cozy breakfast room. It's just a few minutes' walk to the center of town with lots of restaurants, plus the ruins.

"Our hub for Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley"

8.0

It's like an oasis in a remote town. The hotel has a nice courtyard and a homey common area. The in-house restaurant has a gentle Peruvian atmosphere and it's only steps away if you don't want to venture out to town in the dark. The room was overall comfortable and clean. We travelled in a party of four, two of us had a more central room #24, we only had to use the "primitive" fireplace in our room a couple of times (had to ask the staff to ignite it by filling inflammable liquid in a fireplace-like pit attached to the wall that lasted for about 1-2hours each time). The other two travellers had room #27, they had two space heaters but still wasn't warm enough due to the gap underneath their patio door, the view was great but not too comfortable. Also, a couple of things, the water pressure wasn't great in room #24 and kettles are not provided in the rooms, grab some bottled water in advance (the local marketplace, around a 5 mins walk, has the cheapest water, 4 soles for a 2.5L, but the minimarts around town are also alright) as the bottled water offered at the hotel is pretty expensive. We overall had a wonderful stay, the staff were friendly and helpful. The above comments are just some of our thoughts to help improve the hotel as we feel that it definitely has great potential.

"Comfortable, beautiful and convenient hotel"

10.0

Great hotel with beautifully manicured grounds located on a quiet street in the historic Incan village of Ollantaytambo, which is a perfect base for Machu Picchu. Our room was comfortable, and the bathroom was surprisingly large, with a powerful hot shower. The hotel also featured several cozy public areas - including one with a fireplace - to read or watch TV or use WiFi. The only off-key note was the restaurant; the breakfasts, included with the room, were good, but our dinner there was subpar.

"Lovely hotel, nice gardens and close to main squar"

8.0

We were originally put into a room that was not the standard we booked. Once we realized and asked the staff about it we were moved quickly and the staff were really friendly and good about moving us. Nice lounge area and breakfast was good. Be aware the standard rooms are very standard (no lamps, dirty sheets and need new pillows - however bathrooms was very clean). Great shower pressure and hot water, which is not always guaranteed in Sth America.

"Stop before taking the train to Machu Picchu"

6.0

We stayed in Ollantaytambo for one night before taking the train to Machu Picchu - and the hotel was nicely situated just a short walk from the main town square. The hotel staff were very helpful and allowed us to store our bags with them in the morning of our trip plus they provided a packed breakfast which we ate on the train. The hotel room was quite basic and the shower fluctuated been piping hot and cold which was a little annoying. Our room was meant to be garden view but there was not much too look out to. Good for one night.

"This hotel is quaint. Adorable. Beautiful gardens."

8.0

We booked the family room and it was very comfortable. The gardens are very nice with lovely fruit trees and I liked how self contained the hotel is. Bit difficult to find but once it is found it is well located close to everything. Would stay here again.
