1864 The Sea Captain's House

Great location next in Oia, near many good restaurants, photo spots, shops. Great hospitality extended to us by the hosts, especially Thakis, who recommended many useful tips for us. Great accommodation, comfortable, clean, awesome view. Highly highly recommended!!!

The hospitality, the view and the breakfast all exceeded our expectations! Takis and his staff met us and had our luggage carried to the hotel by their donkey. He spent time talking to us about our plans and made sure we were happy there. We stayed in the Captain's Suite which was very spacious and comfortable. Our breakfast was served to us on our large private patio with magnificent views. There was plenty of food and everything was delicious! We would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying there again on our next trip to Santorini.

Picturesque hotel in the heart of Oia. This is a charming and lovely hotel right in the heart d the city. The room is spacious and beautiful. The balcony has the most perfect view I have ever seen and it's steps away from shops and restaurants. There's no real concierge or front desk but management check in every morning at breakfast on the patio. The only complaint would be there is very little privacy. But that's everywhere in Oia. Folks will be able to see you from your patio but the view is so good you probably won't care.

We had such an amazing stay in the Sailing suite in late October. The pictures on the website are very accurate - it was exactly what we had imagined only better once you meet Takis and experience the great, personalized service he and the rest of the staff provide. Bed, linens, large tub are all high quality. Such amazing detail retained from this 1864 gem. The location is the best in Oia. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at The Sea Captain's House in September 2017. Takis and his wife saw to our every need and were so helpful in helping us with dinner reservations and booking a catamaran trip. We were met at the ferry port by a driver who took us to the drop off nearby; we were then met by a porter and donkey to take our luggage to our room, while Takis walked us there. We stayed in the Captain's Suite, and our room was spacious and comfortable. A wonderful Greek breakfast was served to us each morning on our private patio, with an incredible view. And our departure was also very easy. Incredible personal service by The Sea Captain's House! I would highly recommend it.

Loved loved loved this place! Staff was friendly and helpful. Location could not be better. The best part was the balcony - we stayed in the Sailing Suite and I could have spent the whole time on the balcony. Magical!

Great hotel with best location in town. We had the Venetian suite with a semi-obstructed view, would try to go for the neighbor's suite next time with the better view. Shower would splash water everywhere, the bathroom doorknob is in bad shape, and the bed is not made for anyone taller thsn 5'11". But, I would still stay here again, because a lot of other things were really good.

What an incredible place! Exceeded our expectations and the staff was outstanding. Best customer service ever. Our room was amazing, the view spectacular and the food delicious. Taiki and Demetria were fantastic. We will definitely be back!
