Hyll Hotel

We recently stayed for one night to celebrate my husband's birthday, the service was exceptional throughout the hotel, the stylish decor complimented the traditional architecture beautifully and the crackling log fires in the tranquil lounges were most welcoming. Our upgraded room with a view was sumptuously decorated in mooted, relaxing tones with a luxurious marble bathroom and quality toiletries. The food and drinks at dinner and breakfast were excellent, served in the spacious restaurant the menu features local, seasonal ingredients where possible and vegetarians are well catered for. Drinks are also served in any of the lounges as well as the bar so we enjoyed cocktails by the fire before dinner. The large outdoor terrace would be delightful on warmer days. There's an impressive art collection to peruse and numerous books dotted around to read in the lounges or take to your room. We spent a good hour watching Red Kites flying overhead and perched in a tree nearby and numerous small birds flitted in and out of the tall trees around the manor. Above all it's the friendly, welcoming staff who make The Hyll extra special.

Firstly I would not hesitate to stay in this hotel again ,it's a great mix of contemporary and old has such a super feel to it you will not be disappointed if you book this hotel I would like to have a special shout out to Chloe the new restaurant manager such a delightful young girl and a wealth of local knowledge also Rob the barman such a caring and attentive young man and very professional at his job i would have loved these 2 people working for me when I had my pub and restaurant So from a fussy traveller please don't hesitate to book this hotel you will not be disappointed And for the hotel you have such great staff especially Rob and Chloe so it's 5 stars from my Wife and I

We had the most incredible stay at Hyll Hotel. From the moment we arrived, everything felt special. We were kindly upgraded to a room in the main house, which was such a wonderful surprise and made our celebration even more memorable. The room itself was beautiful, and the bed and pillows were unbelievably comfortable — we slept so well. One of the things that really sets this hotel apart is the atmosphere. The cosy lounges and chill-out spaces throughout the main house are such a lovely touch. Sitting by the fire with relaxed music playing creates the perfect setting to unwind and gives the hotel a unique edge compared to other places we’ve stayed. The food was phenomenal. Dinner was outstanding and the desserts were unforgettable — the cheesecake in particular was absolutely incredible! Breakfast the next morning was equally impressive, probably one of the best we’ve had. Everything tasted beautifully fresh and it was clear the ingredients were local and of great quality. The staff were exceptional throughout our stay and delivered a true five-star level of service. Everyone was friendly, attentive and genuinely welcoming. A special mention to one of the team members who worked behind the bar in the evenings (we didn’t catch the young gentleman’s name). He really looked after us and nothing was ever too much trouble. A huge thank you to the whole Hyll team for making our stay so special. We will absolutely be back and will be recommending Hyll Hotel to friends and family. We’re already looking forward to our next visit.

Beautiful setting, lovely room, comfy bed, delicious food, attentive staff, couldn’t fault it

An ongoing transformation to a chic but comfortable and characterful hotel and contemporary quality restaurant. All staff are pleasant, professional and helpful from the moment of arrival and the warm and efficient welcome provided by Lara. All three lounges are sumptuously furnished, each with well tended open fires creating a cosy focal point. Dinner was good, efficiently served and of respectable proportions. Location, views and gardens a delight. The only negatives are that dogs should not in our view be allowed in what is a nice restaurant on the basis of hygiene, distraction and disruption for the majority and maybe serving staff could be attired to suit the classy venue and denim clad guests 'persuaded' to do likewise.

What a joy! We had a wonderful stay at Hyll and from start to finish everything was perfect. All of the staff was exceptional, Jenny from the bar area was so fabulous and friendly, and everyone was so helpful, happy to chat and no one seemed rushed. Dinner in the restaurant was a delight along with the various rooms pre and post for drinks in front of the log fire from the excellent wine list. We will definitely return at some stage, highly recommend.

Quite possibly the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in, the vibe, the room, even the scent! Dinner was amazing, as was the red wine! Will be coming back!

My goodness- what a delight this place is. Beautiful hotel. The food and drinks are incredible. The staff are so helpful and welcoming. It’s like a home away from home, only much more luxurious. Wonderful stay. Highly recommend. Ps. Every room smells delicious.

My wife booked a lovely birthday dinner at the Hyll Hotel. This was our first visit and we were greeted by a charming chap (sorry, name escapes me) who settled us down into one of the fabulous lounges and and presented us the food and drinks menu. A couple of cocktails later, we were taken to the restaurant where we enjoyed a fabulous meal. After that, we chilled in another lounge where we played a couple of vinyl records! A very nice touch. The whole experience was 10/10.

We had a courtyard room 15. The room was stifling hot on arrival and did not cool off despite opening the windows. There is no air conditioning and consequently we had a poor nights sleep. The room itself was dark and dismal with inadequate lighting to read comfortably in bed. Room furniture was dark and seemed to be made from heavy solid blocks of wood. There is not a single drawer in either the room or the bathroom. Bathroom is minimalistic with a shower that does not supply enough water. Externally there is a large amount of building work and walking from restaurant to our room involved negotiating a very uneven pathway with lights in your face rather than illuminating the ground. Altogether very poor with designs features which are a comedy of errors. Dinner was mediocre. The checkout billing was initial opaque and wrong. The only redeeming feature was an excellent breakfast. We stayed one night and booked into nearby Billesley Manor the next night. This hotel is the polar opposite to Hyll and does almost every thing right.
