Pros: The breakfast buffet was beyond delicious! The rooms were clean and the staff was extremely helpful. Cons: This property is older. Rooms where average. Room amenities are average at best. Flat screen TVs are not Smart TVs. No 24/7 room service. They share a compound but do not have access to all the pools. This is a 3.5 star resort. 4 stars on a good day only because the staff will do their best to accommodate each guest.

I was very disapointed in this resort the food was average at best. I also food on theee seperate occasions hair in my meals? Which was a big disapointment. The nighly entertainment was below par I only say two good shows in the seven days i was there. Most of hotel staff i would say 45% only speaks Spanish which was very hard at times to get any assistance. The hotel staff was agreesive in pushing me and my family to upgrade and/or become members. They have two concierge's there name od Joe and Ricardo both condesending and would give wrong informtaion related to shows or anything else. Reason being because i refused to become member or upgrade. Do not come to this resort the beach as nice, the resport okay service terrible and food was average at best.

It was great the facilities were amazing. People were so friendly. The food was the only thing that keep us from giving it a 5. We went on august and most food is outdoors and with the heat the foods flavor is not as great: flies were near the fruit most of the time. Aside from that it was great

Beautiful and lush grounds with pools that meander throughout the expansive property. Very clean and well maintained. Great family destination with an outstanding kids club. Dining choices were endless and varied. Beach was not as pristine as it used to be, with some sargassum and numerous jellyfish.

The property was pretty and the restaurants were good. The worst part was that some of the buffets were open concept and no enclosed with air conditioning. The blue line transportation that was supposed to come around every 15 minutes was no where to be found and we had to walk most of the time, and were already sweating on the way going, eating, and returning from our dinner, and breakfast.

Staff was friendly. Rooms were clean Felt safe traveling alone with my child. Plenty to do. Enjoyed the nightly entertainment

We had a wonderful family stay at Waves Paraiso del Mar with a nice welcome since we arrived and well taken care of during our stay. The room was nice, properly cleaned everyday. As for the food, it was tasty either buffet (plentiful and constantly refilled) or ‘à la carte’ - The Mexican buffer night was awesome! I would like to personally thank these awesome staffs who went above and beyond in their roles: Concierge: - Josue whom upon our arrival explained the various spots in the hotel and taking good care of us whenever he saw us - Javier for reserving the Japanese restaurant for us (Go for that Restaurant!) Restaurant: - Chef Manuel & Server Pascual: We have some food restrictions and they both took care for the meals. Outstanding Service from Pascual for advising us at each servings and Chef Manuel for the tasty meal, taking meticulous care during the preparation and finally the awesome show (don’t miss that one at the Japanese Restaurant) - Chef Octavio, we met him on our last day for buffet. I have rarely seen in a hotel where a chef meeting his guests (buffet) and inquiring about their food preference/concerns (unless you want to call them to compliment) That was a great guest experience Chef Octavio and I hope you keep doing it for your guests The Prestige club: - Eduardo who was very attentive and caring.. Thank you for the gifts, the kids love them Ambassador & Prestige Team: - Carlos and Shonny will go above and beyond to take good care of you. Thank you for helping us every time we reached out while organizing our stay and making it an awesome one :) We did encounter some service that were not up to standard and hope it improves. Ag****n from the golf cart team and In***d from the Concierge Team There was much Seaweed in the sea at this season and the hotel kept cleaning the beach everyday. Military presence constantly on the beach but there was no incident and was safe environment. The pools are great and you’ll end up spending much of your time in there If you are taking the XCaret trip, it’s a very nice experience (if you receive hotel credits you can use it towards the payment, inquire for discounts) but be careful that if you are returning early, there’ll be a rush at the end for your bus back and that bus goes through every hotel before reaching yours :( Overall, we would love to be back one day and I hope you get to enjoy a wonderful time there too for your vacation with your loved ones :)

Place is great! Was a last minute trip and I’m not disappointed. Getting around is very easy with the help of all the carts around, I was just very surprised that the pools closed down at 6pm/1800hrs still plenty of daylight and energy to go around.
