Shower didn’t work. We were put in the older more uncomfortable rooms, not the newer ones. Staff at The crown where had breakfast were a bit rude and weren’t happy we didn’t know about the rules for ordering breakfast. Clearly communication between the hotels needs to improve.

Loved the fact the building was so old. The room was spacious with tea, coffee and biscuits . There was clean, crisp bedding and soft towels. The room was warm. The breakfast at a hotel around the corner was nice, as the kitchen was closed here. Good location.

The dust and dirt in the bedroom. Under furniture and in corners. The smell of drains and the sagging matress. The shower was dirty and the sink was blocked.

I booked a room here at the last minute, to attend a wedding locally. Should have done it sooner but wasn't very organised. All I needed was a bed for the night in the right location, and this fit the bill perfectly. The rooms are basically in a pub, so might be noisy if the pub is busy, but I didn't return until the pub was shut so was very quiet. Good breakfast.

Nothing really. If I was staying longer or spending any time in the room, then I may have found it on the small side, but this wasn't an issue for me at all.

The breakfast was fabulous - set me up for the day and cooked to order. The room was absolutely fine. Bed comfy. I think the landlord/lady were setting up a new heating system, so I got a bit overheated until I figured out how to turn it down... first world problems eh? The landlord/lady and fellow customers were all very friendly and the location bang near the centre of the old town was perfect.

I think, if I were being terribly fussy, the bathroom fittings looked like they had seen better days... but don't we all look that way at times. No doubt there are tweaks to be made, but honestly, I would recommend this pub/hotel for a short visit.

No tv remote. Buttons didn’t work properly either. Stuck with one channel all night. Dull decor, room looked run down.
